Pravind Kumar Jugnauth (born 25 December 1961) is a Mauritian politician serving as the prime minister of Mauritius since January 2017. Jugnauth has been the leader of the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM) party since April 2003. He has held a number of ministerial portfolios and also been Leader of the Opposition. Early life and education Born on 25 December 1961 in La Caverne, a suburb area in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius, Jugnauth was born into a Hindu Yaduvanshi family. Kobita Jugnauth (née Ramdanee) is the wife of Pravind Jugnauth, the leader of the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM) and current Prime Minister of Mauritius. It is the second time that she is holding the title of Spouse of the Prime Minister of Mauritius given that her husband has held the office of Prime Minister twice, first from 2017 to 2019 and again from 2019 to now. Early life Kobita is the daughter of Ursule Jeannine Maunick and Sir Kailash Ramdanee. Sir Kailash Ramdanee founded the Mauritius Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Co. Paul Raymond Bérenger GCSK, MP (born 26 March 1945) is a Mauritian politician who was Prime Minister of Mauritius from 2003 to 2005. Sir Anerood Jugnauth, GCSK, PV, (29 March 1930 – 3 June 2021) was a Mauritian politician and barrister who served both as President and Prime Minister of Mauritius. He was Member of Parliament for Piton & Riviere Du Rempart. A central figure of Mauritian politics in the 1980s and 1990s, he was Leader of the Opposition from 1976 to 1982. He served as Prime Minister from 1982 to 1995 and again from 2000 to 2003. He was then elected as President of Mauritius and served as such from 2003 to 2012.
