Spot is a fictional puppy created by Eric Hill, an English author and illustrator of children's picture books. The success of Hill's books about Spot led to other media productions, including television and home video titles, music albums, and CD-ROM titles. History First published in 1980, ''Where's Spot?'' was inspired while Hill was working in creative marketing; he noticed his three-year-old son was fascinated by the process of lifting up a paper, on a design he was creating. Captivated by this thought, Hill created a story about a puppy which incorporated the flap design. During the late 1970s, this was an extraordinarily innovative concept, and it took some time for any publisher to take any notice of the idea before Puffin books decided to publish his book. The Spot (Dr. Jonathan Ohnn) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character has been depicted as an enemy of Spider-Man and Daredevil who gained the ability to open interdimensional portals, as well as smaller-scale ones, which he uses to travel long distances instantly and commit crimes. Larry Wayne Booker (June 6, 1952 – November 29, 2003), better known by his ring names Moondog Spot and Larry Latham, was an American professional wrestler. Professional wrestling career Early career (1977–1981) Booker debuted in 1977 under the ring name Larry Latham. Latham formed a tag team with Carl Fergie called "The Ragin' Cajuns" managed by Billy Spears in the Gulf Coast territory. The spot (''Leiostomus xanthurus''), also known commonly as the Norfolk spot and the Virginia spot, is a species of small short-lived saltwater fish in the family Sciaenidae. The species inhabits estuary and coastal waters from Massachusetts to Texas, and derives its name from the prominent dark spot behind each gill. It is the only species in the genus ''Leiostomus''. Spot are frequently caught by recreational anglers and are good to eat. Their diet consists largely of organic detritus, small crustaceans, and worms. Bloodworms are the ideal bait when fishing for spot. Spot (born Glen Lockett in 1951) is an American record producer best known for being the house producer and engineer for the influential independent punk record label SST Records. Early life Glen Lockett was born to a Caucasian mother and an African-American father in 1951 and raised in upper-middle-class Hollywood. Lockett's father was a member of the Tuskegee Airmen in WW II. Lockett moved from Hollywood to Hermosa Beach in the mid-1970s, where he met Greg Ginn while working at a vegetarian restaurant called Garden of Eden. Lockett also freelanced for ''Easy Reader'', authoring record reviews under the name Spot. Befriending Ginn, Spot was briefly bassist for Panic, the band which would soon become Black Flag. Spot "Spotty" Fetcher (March 17, 1989 – February 21, 2004) was U.S. President George W. Bush's dog. She was an English Springer Spaniel, named after Scott Fletcher, a baseball player with the Texas Rangers, a team George W. Bush owned before becoming Governor of Texas in 1994. Born in the White House, she was the daughter of Millie, who had belonged to President George H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush.
