Spikers' Turf 2nd Season Open Conference
The Spikers' Turf 2nd Season Open Conference is the 4th conference of the Spikers' Turf, the Philippines' only men's indoor volleyball league in the country and the first conference for its second season. The open conference will start on May 28, 2016 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan. Six (6) volleyball clubs will compete in this year's Open Conference. Spikers' Turf
The Spikers' Turf is a men's semi-professional volleyball league in the Philippines associated with the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. (Sports Vision). History The league had its beginnings in 2014, when the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its Shakey's V-League 11th Season Reinforced Open Conference, 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision decided to spin-off the men's division as a separate league, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. In late-2016, Sports Vision announced that the league be merged back in the 2017 season with the Shakey's V-League (which was renamed as the Premier Volleyball League; PVL). The men's division in the PVL ended with the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference, 2018 PVL Collegiate Conference as its final tournament. Instituto Estetico Manila Phoenix Volley Masters
The Instituto Estetico Manila Volley Masters are a professional men's volleyball team playing in various tournaments, including the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) and the Spikers' Turf. The team is owned by Instituto Estetico Manila, a dental and dermatological clinic. In 2014, the team joined the Philippine Super Liga in its 2014 All-Filipino Conference. This was followed by its participation in the inaugural men's tournament of the Shakey's V-League, where it emerged as that league's first men's champion. History Cosmetic surgeon Reyvic Cerilles established a women's volleyball team in 2001 which took part in the two-woman tournament Club 650. Cerilles named it after Instituto Estetico Manila, his own clinic. The team became inactive in 2005. Philsports Arena
The Philippine Institute of Sports Multi-Purpose Arena or PhilSports Arena is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located inside the PhilSports Complex in Pasig, Philippines. It was formerly known as the University of Life Theater and Recreational Arena or the ULTRA. The arena is part of the PhilSports Complex which is maintained by the Philippine Sports Commission. It was the site of the majority of the games of the Philippine Basketball Association from 1985 to 1992 and from 1999 to 2002. The league still occasionally comes back to play at the arena. The Blue Eagle Gym is a gymnasium located in the main campus of the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City, Philippines. Unlike most gymnasiums, the basketball court is oriented perpendicular to the orientation of the building. History The indoor facility was built in 1949, three years before the Ateneo de Manila University moved from its Manila campus to its current main campus in Loyola Heights, Quezon City in 1952. Team Volleyball Manila (originally, Team Volleyball Madness) is a professional volleyball team in the Philippines playing in various tournaments, including the Spikers' Turf (previously with the Premier Volleyball League) and Philippine Superliga (PSL). The VNS Volleyball Club Griffins (originally, the Volleyball Never Stops Volleyball Club) are a professional men's volleyball team in the Philippines playing the Spikers' Turf. It previously played under various sponsorships. History Volleyball Never Stops or VNS was established in 2013 by a group of team captains who played volleyball either at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) or the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a means to be still able to play competitive volleyball even after they graduated from college. They often took part in exhibition games and various minor tournaments and were joined in by other UAAP and NCAA graduates. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball.
