Speed Skating At The 2022 Winter Olympics – Men's Mass Start
The men's mass start competition in speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 19 February 2022, at the National Speed Skating Oval ("Ice Ribbon") in Beijing. Bart Swings of Belgium, the 2018 silver medalist, won the event. This was the first gold medal for Belgium at the Winter Olympics since 1948. Chung Jae-won of South Korea won the silver medal, his first individual Olympic medal, and Lee Seung-hoon, the defending champion, bronze. The 2018 bronze medalist, Koen Verweij, did not qualify. Joey Mantia is the 2021 World Single Distances champion in mass start, with Arjan Stroetinga and Swings being the silver and bronze medalists, respectively. Swings was leading the 2021–22 ISU Speed Skating World Cup at long distances with three events completed before the Olympics, followed by Ruslan Zakharov and Andrea Giovannini. Felix Rijhnen
Felix Rijhnen (born 9 July 1990) is a German Olympic speed skater. He finished in 13th place in the 5000 m competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics. In the men's mass start competition he was disqualified. In November 2022 Rijhnen won his wirst ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Stavanger. Rijhnen is a world champion in inline speed skating as well. Zbigniew Bródka
Zbigniew Marcin Bródka (; born 8 October 1984) is a Polish speed skater and a 2014 Olympic champion in 1500 metres. He also works as a firefighter in the State Fire Service station in Łowicz. Personal life Bródka was born in Głowno, Poland, on 8 October 1984. Since 2009, he has worked as a firefighter in the State Fire Service ( pl, Państwowa Straż Pożarna) station in Łowicz. He represents a local sports club, UKS Błyskawica Domaniewice. He is married to Agnieszka and has two daughters - Gabriela and Amelia.
