''Special Agent'' is a 1949 American film noir crime film directed by William C. Thomas and starring William Eythe. The storyline is loosely based on the DeAutremont Brothers' 1923 train robbery. Plot With their farm in financial jeopardy, the Devereaux brothers, Ed and Paul, decide to rob a train. After their getaway, railroad detective Johnny Douglas arrives to investigate, with help from Lucille Peters, whose father was killed during the robbery. Francesco Giuseppe "Frank" Puglia (9 March 1892 – 25 October 1975) was an Italian-American film actor. He had small, but memorable roles in films including ''Casablanca'' (a Moroccan rug merchant), ''Now, Voyager'' and ''The Jungle Book''. Biography Born in Linguaglossa, Catania, Sicily, the actor started his career as a teen on stage in Italian operas. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1907. He left from Naples on the ship ''Italia''. Truman Bradley (February 8, 1905 – July 28, 1974) was an actor and narrator in radio, television and film. Early years Bradley was born February 8, 1905, in Sheldon, Missouri. Although he wanted to be an actor, he followed his parents' desires and studied law. Career Radio Bradley began his career in the 1930s as a radio broadcaster. Working at WBBM in Chicago, Illinois, some considered him "the Mid-West's leading news commentator."
