''Speak Now (Taylor's Version)'' is the third re-recorded album by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on July 7, 2023, by Republic Records. It is a re-recording of Swift's third studio album, ''Speak Now'' (2010), part of Swift's counteraction to a 2019 masters dispute regarding the ownership of her back catalog. The album was announced on May 5, 2023, at a Nashville show of her the Eras Tour. Swift wrote all 22 tracks on ''Speak Now (Taylor's Version)'' by herself. The album contains re-recorded versions of the 16 songs from ''Speak Now'''s deluxe edition, produced by Swift and Christopher Rowe; and six previously unreleased "From the Vault" tracks, produced by Swift, Aaron Dessner, and Jack Antonoff. A re-recording is a recording produced following a new performance of a work of music. This is most commonly, but not exclusively, by a popular artist or group. It differs from a reissue, which involves a second or subsequent release of a previously-recorded piece of music. Re-recordings are often produced decades after the original recordings were released, usually under contract terms more favorable to the artists. This is especially common among acts who originally agreed to contracts that would be considered unfair and exploitative today. When re-recordings are issued under newer contracts, artists can collect far higher royalties for use in films, commercials, and movie trailers. Other acts re-record their work for artistic reasons. Jack Michael Antonoff (born March 31, 1984) is an American singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and record producer. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. Hayley Nichole Williams (born December 27, 1988) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and businesswoman who is best known as the lead vocalist, primary songwriter, and keyboardist of the rock band Paramore.
