Sparmos
Sparmos ( el, Σπαρμός, ) is a village of the Elassona municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was a part of the municipality of Olympos. The 2011 census recorded 126 inhabitants in the village. Sparmos is a part of the community of Olympiada. History The settlement is recorded as village and as "Isparmo" in the Ottoman Tahrir Defter number 367 dating to 1530. Population According to the 2011 census, the population of the settlement of Sparmos was 126 people, a decrease of almost 7% compared with the population of the previous census of 2001. Elassona
Elassona ( el, Ελασσόνα; Katharevousa: gr, Ἐλασσών, Elasson) is a town and a municipality in the Larissa regional unit in Greece. During antiquity Elassona was called Oloosson (Ὀλοοσσών) and was a town of the Perrhaebi tribe. It is situated at the foot of Mount Olympus. Elassona is bypassed by the GR-3 (Larissa - Kozani - Florina). History Due to its location on the passes leading from the Thessalian plain to Macedonia, the site of Elassona was always of some strategic importance. Olympos (Greek: Όλυμπος) is a former municipality in the Larissa regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Elassona, of which it is a municipal unit. Population 3,164 (2011). The municipal unit has an area of 303.964 km2. The seat of the municipality was in Kallithea. The municipality was named after the nation's highest point, Mount Olympus. Olympiada ( el, Ολυμπιάδα, ) is a village and a community of the Elassona municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was a part of the municipality of Olympos. The 2011 census recorded 465 inhabitants in the village and 591 inhabitants in the community. The community of Olympiada covers an area of 12.904 km2. History Olympiada was founded by Pontic refugees, who came from the former Russian province Kars Oblast in Eastern Anatolia during the 1923 population exchange. Agia Triada Monastery, Sparmos
The Agia Triada Monastery ( el, Μονή Αγίας Τριάδος) is a Greek Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Holy Trinity (''Agia Triada''), on the southwestern slopes of Mount Olympus, Greece, near the village of Sparmos, whence it is also commonly known as Sparmou Monastery (Μονή Σπαρμού). Beside the monasteries Agios Dionysios Monastery, Olympus, Agios Dionysios and Kanalon Monastery, Kanalon it is one of the List of churches and monasteries in Mount Olympus, monasteries located at Mount Olympus. Larissa ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Λάρισας) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Thessaly. Its capital is the city of Larissa. Total population 269,151 (2021). Geography Larissa is the second largest regional unit in Greece, exceeded only by Aetolia-Acarnania. It covers about one-third of Thessaly.
