Fuerza De Guerra Naval Especial
The Special Naval Warfare Force (FGNE) ( es, Fuerza de Guerra Naval Especial) is the special forces unit of the Spanish Navy. It was created on June 10, 2009 through the fusion of the Unidad de Operaciones Especiales, Special Operations Unit (UOE) of the Spanish Navy Marines and the Special Combat Divers Unit (UEBC) of the Navy Diving Center. Before the merger, between 2004 and 2009, the two units operated under a single Special Naval Warfare Command. Between 1967 and 2009, the special operations of the Spanish Navy were conducted by the UOE, whose many traditions the FGNE adopted – including the use of the special forces "green beret", the selection course, and the organization of operational units into . Special Operations Command (Spain)

The Special Operations Groups ( es, Grupos de Operaciones Especiales, GOE) are the special operations forces of the Spanish Army. Unidad Especial De Intervención
The Unidad Especial de Intervención (UEI) () is the Police Tactical Unit of the Guardia Civil (), the Spanish gendarmerie. Overview UEI was established in 1978 to respond to high risk situations and including those involving hostages. Its motto is ''Celeritas et Subtilitas Patrio''. The exact scope of UEI operations and total number of personnel are not published. In 2008, on the occasion of the Unit's 30th anniversary, its commanding officer revealed that the UEI had until then participated in 375 operations, in which 563 hostages had been freed and 640 people arrested, of whom 141 belonged to terrorist groups. These operations included 11 high-sea missions against drug-trafficking. He also revealed that due to the demanding selection process, of the 26 applicants that had applied to join the Unit that year, only four had been admitted. The Unit has also intervened in 18 prison riots involving hostages.

''Grupo de Acción Rápida'' (GAR) ( en, Rapid Action Group) is the rural police tactical unit of the Spanish Civil Guard ( es, Guardia Civil, link=no). Grupo Especial De Operaciones
The Grupo Especial de Operaciones (GEO, ; '' en, Special Group of Operations'', GEO), is the police tactical unit of Spain's National Police Corps. The GEO has response capabilities and is responsible for VIP protection duties, as well as countering and responding to terrorism. Organized along the lines of many other police tactical units throughout Europe, the GEOs is focused on dealing with terrorist attacks, including aircraft hijackings as well as maritime threats and hostage taking.
