Spanish Chamber Of Commerce
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce (Spanish: Cámara de Comercio Española; ) represents the interests of Spain in Taiwan in the absence of formal diplomatic relations, functioning as a ''de facto'' embassy. Its counterpart in Spain is the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain in Madrid. It also has a Consular Section, which is under the jurisdiction of the Spanish Consulate General in Manila in the Philippines. Taipei (), officially Taipei City, is the capital and a special municipality of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The diplomatic missions in Taiwan include embassies; trade and cultural missions include representative offices. Due to the special political status and One-China policy, Taiwan is only recognized by 14 countries, all of whom have an embassies in Taipei. In addition, approximately 60 countries, which do not have diplomatic relations with the Republic of China, have established trade offices and other unofficial offices in Taiwan, which have a wide array of titles. However, due to opposition from People's Republic of China, the unofficial representative offices' titles do not have the word "Taiwan", except for unofficial representative offices from Papua New Guinea, Somaliland, Oman, Japan, and the United States. Chiang Kai-shek
Chiang Kai-shek (31 October 1887 – 5 April 1975), also known as Chiang Chung-cheng and Jiang Jieshi, was a Chinese Nationalist politician, revolutionary, and military leader who served as the leader of the Republic of China (ROC) from 1928 to his death in 1975 – until 1949 in mainland China and from then on in Taiwan. After his rule was confined to Taiwan following his defeat by Mao Zedong in the Chinese Civil War, he continued to head the ROC government until his death. Béatrice Hibou
Béatrice Hibou is a French political scientist. She is a research director and instructor at the at Sciences Po. She studies political economy and trade policy with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, and she also studies the role of market forces in shaping the policies and structure of the state and how that affects the lives of individuals. Education and positions Hibou attended Sciences Po, obtaining her undergraduate degree in 1987. In 1995, Hibou graduated from The School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences with a doctorate in economics. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled ''Économie politique de la protection en Afrique'' (The political economy of protection in Africa), and used a Weberian framework to study trade policy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
