Natalia Vitalyevna Shaposhnikova (russian: Наталья Витальевна Шапошникова; born 24 June 1961, in Rostov-on-Don), married name Natalia Sout, is a former Soviet artistic gymnast, two-time Olympic champion, and Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR. She was known for her risky, original skills and expressive choreography, especially on balance beam and floor exercise. Competitive career Shaposhnikova trained at Dynamo in Rostov-on-Don under Honoured Trainer of the USSR Vladislav Rastorotsky, who also trained her compatriots Ludmilla Tourischeva and Natalia Yurchenko. Yelena Arkadyevna Naimushina (russian: Елена Аркадьевна Наимушина; 19 November 1964 – 14 March 2017) was a Soviet gymnast. Career She competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics and won a gold medal with the Soviet team. She won a silver team medal at the 1979 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Maria Evgenievna Filatova (russian: Мария Евгеньевна Филатова) (born July 19, 1961) is a retired Soviet gymnast who competed at the 1976 and 1980 Olympics. Career Filatova began competing for the USSR junior team in 1974. In 1976 she placed fourth at the USSR National Championships and competed well in various international events. Filatova was originally named as an alternate to the Soviet team at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. However, during podium training, she received such a positive reaction from the crowd that she was added to the team roster. She shared in the team gold medal and was ranked ninth overall after the team competition. Because four of her teammates scored higher than she did and only three gymnasts per team were allowed to compete in the all-around, she did not advance to the AA finals in spite of her high placement. The men's foil was one of eight fencing events on the fencing at the 1980 Summer Olympics programme. It was the eighteenth appearance of the event. The competition was held from 22 to 23 July 1980. 37 fencers from 16 nations competed. Nations had been limited to three fencers each since 1928. The event was won by Vladimir Smirnov of the Soviet Union, the nation's first victory in the men's foil since 1960 and second overall. The men's 3 metre springboard, also reported as ''springboard diving'', was one of four diving events on the Diving at the 1980 Summer Olympics programme. The competition was split into two phases: #''Preliminary round'' (22 July) #:Divers performed eleven dives. The eight divers with the highest scores advanced to the final. #''Final'' (23 July) #:Divers performed another set of eleven dives and the score here obtained was combined with half of the preliminary score to determine the final ranking.
