Soviet Union Olympic Football Team
The Soviet Union Olympic football team was the national association football, football team of the Soviet Union from 1952 to 1990. The team participated in all of the qualification football tournaments for Summer Olympics (except for 1980 when it qualified as hosts). Until 1992, when age restrictions were officially introduced, the Soviet Union used the first team both in qualification tournaments and finals except for 1960 and 1964 when the second national team was used for the qualification tournaments (the first team succeeded it in the finals in those years). The Football Federation of the USSR (russian: Федерация футбола СССР) was a governing body of football in the Soviet Union and since 1972 the main governing body of football in the country. The Federation was created late in 1934 by the decision of the '' Supreme Council of Physical Culture'' of the USSR (russian: Высший Совет Физической Культуры, VSFK) as its sports section governing specifically football. It was the only organization that obtained recognition of FIFA in 1946. 1958 FIFA World Cup Qualification (UEFA – Group 6)
A total of 55 teams entered the 1958 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds, competing for a total of 16 spots in the final tournament. Sweden as the hosts and West Germany, as the defending champions, qualified automatically, leaving 14 spots open for competition. Qualification Process The qualification rounds for the four previous World Cups differed widely, with controversial rules and many withdrawals. From this tournament onwards, FIFA divided the teams into several continental zones, assigned a pre-determined number of places in the final tournament to each zone, and delegated the organisation of the qualifying tournaments to its confederations: UEFA of Europe, CONMEBOL of South America, NAFC of North America, CCCF of Central America and Caribbean, CAF of Africa and AFC of Asia (and OFC of Oceania after it was formed later). Anatoly Krutikov
Anatoly Fyodorovich Krutikov (russian: Анатолий Фёдорович Крутиков; 21 September 1933 – 8 November 2019) was a Russian footballer and manager. Club career Krutikov played in nearly 300 Soviet league matches for FC Spartak Moscow, winning the Soviet Top League in 1962 and the Soviet Cup in 1963 and 1965. International career He earned 9 caps for the USSR national football team, and participated in the first ever European Nations' Cup in 1960, where the Soviets were champions. He was selected for the 1964 European Nations' Cup squad, but did not play in any games at the tournament. Coaching career He has the dubious distinction of being the only FC Spartak Moscow coach to get the team relegated from the top division in USSR or Russia (in 1976). Boris Davidovich Razinsky (russian: Борис Давидович Разинский; 12 July 1933 — 6 August 2012) was a Soviet Russian Olympic champion football player and manager. Personal life Razinsky was born in Lyubertsy, Russia, and died in Moscow. He was Jewish. In 2009, Razinsky attended the 2009 Maccabiah Games to watch his grandson participate in the under-18 football competition. Razinsky's visit was marred by a brawl between the Russian and Argentine sides and both squads were told not to return for the 2013 Maccabiah Games. Football career Razinsky played both as a goalkeeper and as a striker (usually keeping one specific position while playing at the same club).
