Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an award given to the Southland Conference's (SLC) most outstanding player. The award was first given following the conference's inaugural basketball season of 1963–64. Five players have won the award two times: Jerry Rook, Larry Jeffries, Andrew Toney, Ryan Stuart and Thomas Walkup. No player has ever won three times. McNeese has the most all-time winners with ten. Southland Conference
The Southland Conference (SLC) is a collegiate athletic conference which operates in the South Central United States (specifically Texas and Louisiana). It participates in the NCAA's Division I for all sports; for football, it participates in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Southland sponsors 18 sports, 10 for women and eight for men, and is governed by a presidential Board of Directors and an Advisory Council of athletic and academic administrators. Chris Grant became the Southland's seventh commissioner on April 5, 2022. From 1996 to 2002, for football only, the Southland Conference was known as the Southland Football League. The conference's offices are located in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas. Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. The Arkansas State Red Wolves men's basketball (formerly the Indians) team represents Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas, United States. Jordan Isaiah Howard (born January 6, 1996) is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player for the Ningbo Rockets of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Taylor Smith (born July 23, 1991) is an American basketball player for Scaligera Verona of the LBA. He played college basketball for Stephen F. Austin State University. College career Smith, a 6'6" forward from Schertz, Texas, played two seasons at McLennan Community College before enrolling at Stephen F. Austin (SFA). Patrick Richard (born January 25, 1990) is an American-born naturalised Romanian professional basketball player for U-BT Cluj-Napoca of the Romanian Liga Națională.
