The University of Southern Mississippi (Southern Miss or USM) is a public research university with its main campus located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The 1995 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament featured 64 teams. The Final Four consisted of Connecticut, Tennessee, Stanford, and Georgia. Connecticut defeated Tennessee 70-64 to win its first NCAA title and complete a 35-0 undefeated season. The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) is a collegiate athletic conference that has been affiliated with the NCAA's Division I since 1976. The 2018–19 Southern Miss Lady Eagles basketball team represented the University of Southern Mississippi during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Eagles, led by fifteenth year head coach Joye Lee-McNelis, played their home games at Reed Green Coliseum and were members of Conference USA.
