	South Korea At The 2008 Summer Paralympics South Korea competed at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. The country's delegation consisted of 79 competitors and 54 officials. Among the competitors were world record holders Park Jong-chul in powerlifting, Min Byeong-eon in swimming and Hong Suk-man in athletics. The team's athletics (track and field) director was Yu Hee-sang. Other members of the team included wheelchair racers Hong Duk-ho and Yoo Byung-hoon. The group left for Beijing on September 1, five days before the start of the games. 	Athletics At The 2008 Summer Paralympics Athletics at the 2008 Summer Paralympics were held in Beijing National Stadium from September 8 to September 17. There were 160 gold medals in this sport. Classification Athletes are given a classification depending on the type and extent of their disability. The classification system allows athletes to compete against others with a similar level of function. Classification Players are given a classification depending on the type and extent of their disability. The classification system allows players to compete against others with a similar level of function. Table tennis has ten numbered classes, with lower numbers corresponding to more severe disability. Classes one through five compete in wheelchairs and classes six through ten compete while standing. Events Twenty-four events were contested. The competition was held in the Beijing Shooting Range Hall from 7 September to 12 September. Classification Paralympic shooters are classified according to the extent of their disability.
