The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (, Abbr.: KOC) is the National Olympic Committee of Republic of Korea (competing as Korea) for the Olympic Games movement and inbound sports issue. It is a non-profit organization that selects players and teams to represent the nation, and raises funds to send them to Olympic events organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). History The ''Joseon Sports Council'' was established on 13 July 1920, and it made Korean national competitions of each sport including All Joseon Football Tournament. The competitions were combined as the All Joseon Sport Games (currently Korean National Sports Festival) in 1934, and the combined competition was held every autumn. However, the Joseon Sports Council was forcibly dissolved by Japan on 4 July 1938, and Korean sporting activities were restricted until the end of the Japanese occupation. Alpine Skiing at the 1994 Winter Olympics consisted of ten alpine skiing events, held north of the host city of Lillehammer, Norway. The speed events were held at Kvitfjell and the technical events at Hafjell from 13 to 21 February. Medal summary Ten nations won medals in alpine skiing, with Germany leading the medal table with three golds and one silver. The host team of Norway won the most medals with five (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze). Markus Wasmeier of Germany led the individual medal table with two gold medals ( super G and giant slalom), while Vreni Schneider of Switzerland won the most medals with three, one of each type. Tommy Moe of the United States won gold in the downhill and silver in the super G. Kjetil André Aamodt of Norway won two silvers and a bronze. Lee Kyou-hyuk (, born 16 March 1978) is a South Korean retired long track speed skater who specializes in the 500 and 1,000 meters. He was the 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 World Sprint Speed Skating Champion and the 2011 World Champion for 500 m. He is one of four men to have won the World Sprint Speed Skating Championships four times. His first world sprint championship, in 2007, was his first International Championships medal after a 13-year top-level career. Lily Lyoonjung Lee (born September 26, 1969) is a Korean-American former competitive figure skater. She represented South Korea at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Personal life Born in Seoul, South Korea, Lily Lee moved to the United States as a child and was raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She holds dual citizenship. Career Lee was coached by Kathy Casey in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In the 1980s, she competed on the national level in the United States, winning the 1987 Eastern Sectionals and qualifying several times for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Jung Sung-il (October 21, 1969) is a South Korean retired competitive figure skater. He is the 1991 Winter Universiade silver medalist. He placed as high as sixth at the World Junior Championships (1988) and 14th at the World Championships (1991). A three-time Olympian, he placed 22nd at the 1988 Winter Olympics, 21st at the 1992 Winter Olympics, and 17th at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
