''Sound of Colors'' is a 2001 Taiwanese children's picture book written and illustrated by Jimmy Liao. The Chinese title means "subway", and the book follows a blind girl's imaginations as she rides the city's rapid transit. The book was translated to English by Sarah L. Thomson and published in 2006 as ''The Sound of Colors''. Jimmy Liao
Jimmy Liao (; pen name: , ; born 15 November 1958) is a Taiwanese illustrator as well as a picture book writer. His Chinese pen name, 幾米, is phonetically derived from his English given name Jimmy. Biography After graduating from Chinese Culture University in which he majored in art, Jimmy worked in an advertising company for twelve years, and then he worked as an illustrator for newspapers and magazines. Jimmy was a middle-aged man who had survived a battle with leukemia in 1995 and was determined to devote himself heart and soul to his art. In 1998 his picture books ''Secrets In The Forest'' (森林裡的秘密) and ''A Fish With A Smile'' (微笑的魚) were published in Taiwan. Miriam Yeung (born 3 February 1974) is a Hong Kong actress and Cantopop diva. As of 2020, she has released more than 35 albums and has starred in more than 40 films. ''Sound of Colors'' is a Chinese and Taiwanese romance television series, based on the comic book of the same name by famous Taiwanese illustrator Jimmy Liao. It first broadcast on June 10, 2006 in Taiwan, followed by subsequent broadcasts in other Asian countries. A film version starring Tony Leung and Miriam Yeung was made in 2003, but the TV drama and the film have completely different storylines. Chang Chen
Chang Chen (born 14 October 1976) is a Taiwanese actor. He was born in Taipei, Taiwan. His father Chang Kuo-chu and his brother Hans Chang are also actors. Career Chang started his film career at a very young age. He was then selected by a Taiwanese film director Edward Yang to be the protagonist of a four-hour-long critically acclaimed film ''A Brighter Summer Day'', which won the Special Jury Prize at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
