''Sound as Ever'' is the debut album by Australian band You Am I, released in October 1993 via rooArt Records.McFarlane'You Am I'entry. Archived frothe originalon 29 August 2004. It was recorded at Pachyderm Studio in rural Cannon Falls, Minnesota, over eight days from July to August 1993 and was produced by Lee Ranaldo, (Sonic Youth) with Wayne Connolly as mixer and audio engineer. It provided three singles, "Adam's Ribs" (October 1993), "Berlin Chair" (February 1994) and " Jaimme's Got a Gal" (May). ''Sound as Ever'' was a departure for Tim Rogers on lead vocals, lead guitar and organ; Andy Kent on bass guitar and backing vocals; and Mark Tunaley on drums, percussion and vocals. You Am I
You Am I are an Australian alternative rock band, fronted by its lead singer-songwriter and guitarist, Tim Rogers. They formed in December 1989 and are the first Australian band to have released three successive albums that have each debuted at the number-one position on the ARIA Albums Chart: ''Hi Fi Way'' (February 1995), '' Hourly, Daily'' (July 1996) and '' #4 Record'' (April 1998). Nine of their tracks appeared on the related ARIA Singles Chart top 50 with "What I Don't Know 'bout You" (February 1998), their highest charting, at No. 28. Wayne Connolly
Wayne Paul Connolly is an Australian musician, record producer and audio engineer. From 1991 to 1997 Connolly provided lead guitar and vocals in guitar pop group the Welcome Mat, with whom he released two studio albums. In 1994, he formed Knievel with Tracy Ellis and Nick Kennedy, which issued four studio albums. Knievel achieved high rotation on national youth radio Triple J, they toured locally and internationally, and supported performances by Luna, Teenage Fanclub, Death Cab for Cutie and The Pernice Brothers. Career Musician Wayne Connolly (ex-Deluge), on lead guitar and backing vocals, joined urban and western band John Kennedy's Love Gone Wrong in Sydney in mid-1986. Alongside Connolly, the group's line-up was Kennedy on lead vocals and guitar, Cory Messenger on guitar and backing vocals, Barry Turnbull on bass guitar and Vincent Sheehan on drums. The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The charts are a record of the highest selling songs and albums in various genres in Australia. ARIA became the official Australian music chart in June 1988, succeeding the Kent Music Report, which had been Australia's national music sales charts since 1974. History The ''Go-Set'' charts were Australia's first national singles and albums charts, published from 5 October 1966 until 24 August 1974. ''Hourly, Daily'' is an album by the Australian rock band, You Am I, released in July 1996. The album is Tim Rogers (musician), Tim Rogers' portrait of Australian life, spread across 15 tracks. Themes include childhood, suburbia and relationships. The album also seems to run the course of a day, "Good Mornin'" beginning with an alarm clock, ending with the question of "Who Takes Who Home" on a night out, and after a period of silence, the hidden track entitled "Forget It Sister" begins with 'good morning baby..' Rusty Hopkinson
Russell Keith "Rusty" Hopkinson is an Australian rock musician and record label owner. He joined alternative rockers, You Am I, in 1993 on drums, percussion and backing vocals. He had previously been a member of the Bamboos (1986–87) and Kryptonics (1987–88). He established a record label, Reverberation, in 2003 with his former Kryptonics bandmate, Ian Underwood. Biography Early in 1981 in Perth, Hopkinson was the lead vocalist and guitarist for Circle A, which included Don Burr on lead guitar and the Tarrant brothers: Dan on bass guitar and John on drums. ''In Utero'' is the third and final studio album by American rock band Nirvana. It was released on September 21, 1993, by DGC Records. After breaking into the mainstream with their second album, ''Nevermind'' (1991), Nirvana hired Steve Albini to record ''In Utero'', seeking a more complex, abrasive sound that was also reminiscent of their debut album, ''Bleach'' (1989). Frontman Kurt Cobain took heavy inspiration from his personal struggles for the album's lyrics, many of which express feelings of angst that were common on ''Nevermind''. The album was recorded over two weeks in February 1993 at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. Nirvana (band)
Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. Timothy Adrian Rogers (born 20 September 1969), known professionally as Tim Rogers, is an Australian musician, actor and writer, best known as the frontman of Australian rock band You Am I. He has also recorded solo albums with backing bands. As of July 2013, Rogers has released 12 albums with You Am I and five solo albums. Early life Born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Rogers moved between towns multiple times during his adolescence, including Adelaide and Canberra. Following his primary school years in Applecross, a suburb of Perth, Rogers later became school captain at Sydney school Oakhill College. Rogers studied law at the Australian National University in Canberra, aged 18, though did not complete a degree.
