Sophie (musician)
Sophie Xeon (17 September 198630 January 2021), known mononymously as Sophie (stylised in all caps), was a Scottish music producer, songwriter, and DJ. Known for a brash and experimental take on pop music that helped pioneer the 2010s hyperpop microgenre, Sophie worked closely with artists from the PC Music label, including A.G. Cook and GFOTY, and produced for acts such as Charli XCX, Vince Staples, Kim Petras, Madonna, Let's Eat Grandma, and Namie Amuro. Sophie, who initially remained anonymous and later came out as a transgender woman, came to prominence with the breakthrough singles " Bipp" (2013) and "Lemonade" (2014), which were collected on the compilation album ''Product'' (2015). Sophie's only studio album ''Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides'' followed in 2018, earning a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Harley Edward Streten (born 5 November 1991), known professionally as Flume, is an Australian DJ and music producer. He is regarded as a pioneer of future bass who helped popularise the genre. His self-titled debut studio album, ''Flume'', was released in 2012 to positive reviews, topping the ARIA Albums Chart and reaching double-platinum accreditation in Australia. Polly-Louisa Salmon (born 19 July 1990), better known by her stage name GFOTY, an abbreviation of Girlfriend of the Year, is a British pop singer. From 2013 to 2018, she released music through the PC Music label. She now independently releases her music. Much of her work has been in the form of mini-mixes. Biography GFOTY is the daughter of art dealer Jeff Salmon. She grew up in London, England and ran a blog. Her earliest songs include "Take a Picture", which includes rap group Serious Thugs, and "Friday Night", which is a darkly-comical take on pop clichés about partying teenagers. Hayden Frances Dunham (born June 16, 1988) is a performance artist, designer, singer, songwriter and DJ. They grew up in Austin, Texas and attended the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU. They are best known for their work as QT (an initialism for Quinn Thomas) a music project founded in 2014, in collaboration with English producer A. G. Cook, and Scottish producer Sophie. QT is a pop singer, portrayed by Dunham and sung by Harriet Pittard, who promotes and is the living embodiment of the semi-fictitious DrinkQT energy drink. Cecile Believe (formerly known as Mozart's Sister) is a solo project by Montreal-based Canadian musician Caila Thompson-Hannant.
