Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Death growls and gang vocals are common. 1990s metalcore bands were inspired by hardcore while later metalcore bands were inspired by melodic death metal bands like At the Gates and In Flames. ''Kingdom Days in an Evil Age'' is the third album from the Christian metalcore band, Sleeping Giant. Critical reception Zachary Zinn writes: "Sleeping Giant does a tremendous job at keeping the songs diversified and making each one sound different and unique. It’s great to see a heavy band focus more on the Maker than breakdowns and growls. It’s a rare gem that comes highly recommended to fans of the genre." Jeremiah Holdsworthfrom Indie Vision Music says: "Musically this album is kicking on all cylinders. If you were a fan of Sleeping Giant before, then you will definitely be impressed with this release. If you weren’t a fan then I definitely recommend checking this one out, because this isn’t the same Sleeping Giant from the past. I also recommend getting the deluxe edition, because the three bonus tracks, are just as good, if not better, then most of the songs on the regular album." Track listing Credits * J.R. Christian Metalcore
Christian metal, also known as white metal, Jesus metal or heavenly metal, is heavy metal music distinguished by its Christian themed song lyrics and the dedication of the band members to Christianity.
