Karin Oliver is a former singer for the Livonia, Michigan band His Name Is Alive. She was with the band from 1989 to 1998. After leaving the band following the USA release party for the ''Ft. Lake'' album, she pursued a career in marketing full-time. She married Steven Kreft in August 2000. Now Karin works at an art center that preserves environmental art and runs her own small marketing consulting agency in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The Dirt Eaters EP
''The Dirt Eaters'' in an EP by His Name Is Alive, originally released by 4AD in early 1992. It has never been released on its own in the United States, as it was included on the 4AD/Rykodisc US reissue of ''Home Is in Your Head'' in 1992. History ''The Dirt Eaters'' represented a step forward in the evolution of His Name Is Alive. While still recorded at HNIA leader Warren Defever's home, the small success of his first two LPs for 4AD had allowed him to considerably improve his home recording studio. Much more so than the previous releases, ''The Dirt Eaters'' is a song-oriented effort, with mostly ethereal folk songs replacing the sound collages and avant-pop of '' Livonia'' and ''Home Is in Your Head''. Four songs were recorded for the EP in late 1991, and a remix of "Are We Still Married?" was also included. ''Home Is in Your Head'' is the second studio album by His Name Is Alive, originally released via 4AD in the UK on September 9, 1991, and on Rykodisc in the United States in 1992. Vaughan Oliver
Vaughan Oliver (12 September 1957 – 29 December 2019) was a British graphic designer based in Epsom, Surrey. Oliver was best known for his work with graphic design studios 23 Envelope and v23. Both studios maintained a close relationship with record label 4AD between 1982 and 1998 and gave distinct visual identities for the 4AD releases by many bands, including Mojave 3, Lush, Cocteau Twins, The Breeders, This Mortal Coil, Pale Saints, Pixies, and Throwing Muses. Oliver also designed record sleeves for such artists as David Sylvian, The Golden Palominos, and Bush. A book collecting his work, ''Vaughan Oliver: Archive,'' was published in 2018. ''Stars on E.S.P.'' is an album by His Name Is Alive, released by 4AD in 1996. History ''Stars on E.S.P.'' had the longest gestation period of any His Name Is Alive album, a project that band leader Warren Defever spent three years crafting before it saw release. In his notes written at the time of the album's release, he mentions that he began work on "I Can't Live in This World Anymore" in December 1992, right after the completion of '' Mouth by Mouth''. The project took so long for a few reasons: HNIA's 1993 tour in support of ''Mouth by Mouth''; the death of Defever's mother in 1994, which led his father to move to Florida, leaving the house to Defever and him living alone for the first time; and various other projects that were started but mostly left uncompleted. Warren Defever (first name often spelled Warn; born April 30, 1969) is a musician and producer, originally from Livonia, Michigan, and now based in Detroit. He is most known for his chameleonic project His Name Is Alive, though he is active in numerous other circles.
