''Some Things Never Change'' is the tenth album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in March 1997. Overview ''Some Things Never Change'' represented a deliberate return to the band's earlier sound (before ''Free as a Bird''), using more organic recording techniques than on their previous studio album. John Helliwell recounted that "we recorded the album in a way that Supertramp never had and that was by all going into the studio together and doing it as a much more live thing." The album features the single " You Win, I Lose", which was a minor hit in Germany and also received considerable airplay in Canada. Two more singles were released commercially: "Listen To Me Please" and "Sooner or Later". The song "Live to Love You" (which was also released as a promo single) features both the 'tackled' sound from the Coleco Electronic Quarterback handheld electronic game, as well as the Trouble "Pop-o-matic bubble" sounds from their 1979 hit "The Logical Song". Supertramp
Supertramp were an English rock band that formed in London in 1969. Marked by the individual songwriting of founders Roger Hodgson (vocals, keyboards, and guitars) and Rick Davies (vocals and keyboards), they are distinguished for blending progressive rock and pop styles as well as for a sound that relied heavily on Wurlitzer electric piano. The group's lineup changed numerous times throughout their career, with Davies being the only consistent member throughout the decades. Other longtime members included bassist Dougie Thomson, drummer Bob Siebenberg, and saxophonist John Helliwell. The band were initially a prog-rock group, but starting with their third album, ''Crime of the Century'' (1974), they began moving towards a more pop-oriented sound. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Karen Lawrence is an American singer and songwriter who has worked with the L.A. Jets (1994), Karen Lawrence and the Pinz, and Blue by Nature. She sang backup vocals on "Get It Up" from the '' Draw the Line'' by Aerosmith and sang "Back on the Streets" from the Jeff Beck album ''Flash''. Kalimbas
Mbira ( ) are a family of musical instruments, traditional to the Shona people of Zimbabwe. They consist of a wooden board (often fitted with a resonator) with attached staggered metal tines, played by holding the instrument in the hands and plucking the tines with the thumbs (at minimum), the right forefinger (most mbira), and sometimes the left forefinger. Musicologists classify it as a lamellaphone, part of the plucked idiophone family of musical instruments. In Eastern and Southern Africa, there are many kinds of mbira, often accompanied by the hosho, a percussion instrument. Trombones
The trombone (german: Posaune, Italian, French: ''trombone'') is a musical instrument in the brass family. As with all brass instruments, sound is produced when the player's vibrating lips cause the air column inside the instrument to vibrate. Nearly all trombones use a telescoping slide mechanism to alter the pitch instead of the valves used by other brass instruments. The valve trombone is an exception, using three valves similar to those on a trumpet, and the superbone has valves and a slide. The word "trombone" derives from Italian ''tromba'' (trumpet) and ''-one'' (a suffix meaning "large"), so the name means "large trumpet". Bob Siebenberg
Robert Layne Siebenberg (born October 31, 1949) also known as Bob C. Benberg, is an American musician, best known as a member of British progressive rock band Supertramp, playing drums and percussion. He was the sole American in Supertramp's lineup, joining the band in 1973. His son, Jesse, joined Supertramp at the time of the release of the live album '' It Was the Best of Times'' (live; 1999). In 1985, Siebenberg released a solo album called ''Giants in Our Own Room'' (and credited to "Siebenberg"), where he sings lead on half of the songs and also plays keyboards and drums. Clifford Clyde Hugo (born April 23, 1951 in Glendale, California), is the bass guitarist for the art rock band Supertramp. Mark Hart
Mark Hart (born July 2, 1953), is an American musician and multi-instrumentalist best known for being a member of both Supertramp (1986–1988, 1996–2002, 2015–present) and Crowded House (1993–1996, 2007–2019). As well as being a group member, touring and session musician for acts such as Ringo Starr, Hart has composed film scores and is a record producer. Biography Hart was born on July 2, 1953 in Fort Scott, Kansas and grew up there. He has an older brother, Kelly, and an older sister, Millicent. Richard Davies (born 22 July 1944) is an English musician, singer and songwriter best known as founder, vocalist and keyboardist of the rock band Supertramp.
