''Some People'' is the debut studio album from British musician Belouis Some, released in 1985. Background Neville Keighley began performing as Belouis Some in 1983. He would sign with Parlophone Records that year and began recording his studio album soon after. Recording of ''Some People'' began at Good Earth, Maison Rouge and Air Studios in London, with Ian Little and Pete Schwier at the producers' helm. In late 1984, recording continued at New York with producers Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero. ''Some People'' was released in 1985. It did not chart. Preceding the album, the first single "Target Practice" was released in June 1984, but failed to chart. In March 1985, "Imagination" was released, and saw some chart success across various countries, including reaching #50 in the UK and #88 in America. "Imagination" is a song by British musician Belouis Some, from his 1985 debut album '' Some People''. Upon its first release as a single in the UK in 1985, the song only managed to chart at No. 50, but a re-release proved more successful, hitting the top 20 and peaking at No. 17 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1986. In the U.S., the song reached No. 88 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in May 1985. On 10 October 1994, a remix of the song by British electronica band The Beloved (Jon and Helena Marsh) was released as a single on Some's own label Some Music LTD. It reached number 95 in the UK Singles Chart in March 1995. In February 2023, producer Lee Rose with Belouis Some released a tech house version of "Imagination" on Deevu Records. Robin Clark
Robin Clark is an American vocalist known for her work as a vocalist on David Bowie's 1975 album ''Young Americans'' and Simple Minds' 1985 album ''Once Upon a Time''. Clark was born in New York. In 1966, when Clark was 16, she and future singer and songwriter Luther Vandross worked together after school in the stockroom at Alexander's department store in the Bronx. Gary Barnacle (born 1959 in Dover, England) is an English saxophonist, flautist, brass instrument arranger, composer, and producer. Barnacle is primarily noted for his session work and live work, including various Prince's Trust concerts at Wembley Arena, the Royal Albert Hall and the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. Anthony Terrence Thompson (November 15, 1954 – November 12, 2003) was an American session drummer best known as the drummer of the Power Station and a member of Chic. Early life and education Thompson was raised in the middle-class community of Springfield Gardens, in Queens, New York City. His mother was Trinidadian and father was of Antiguan descent. Career Chic Thompson first drummed for the group Labelle, and then for a short while was a member of the soul/disco band Ecstasy, Passion & Pain. Bernard Edwards (October 31, 1952 – April 18, 1996) was an American bass player and record producer, known primarily for his work in disco music with guitarist Nile Rodgers, with whom he co-founded Chic. Jack Waldman (September 6, 1952 – May 17, 1986) was a jazz and rock musician, composer, producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Waldman was best known for his studio work and performances with singer Robert Palmer, and also worked with artists such as Billy Idol, Madonna, Rob Hegel, Joe Jackson, Foreigner and Whitney Houston.
