Solomon Islands National Under-17 Football Team
The Solomon Islands national under-17 football team is the national U-17 team of Solomon Islands and is controlled by the Solomon Islands Football Federation. History In the 2015 OFC U-17 Championship striker Larry Zama scored thirteen goals in the course of the campaign making him the top goal scorer of the tournament. He scored eight goals in a single game against American Samoa, a tournament record to that date. In the semi-finals of the 2018 OFC U-16 Championship Solomon Islands defeated Fiji to qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru. Solomon Islands were to make their FIFA U-17 World Cup Debut in Peru in 2019; however on 15 February 2019 Solomon Islands seemed to have forfeited their chance of playing in the event due to over-age player Chris Satu. The Solomon Islands Football Federation is a member of the Oceania Football Confederation. The Solomon Islands national football team made history when they made it to the final Oceania stages of the 2006 World Cup Qualification against Australia. Wellington Phoenix FC
Wellington Phoenix Football Club is a professional association football club based in Wellington, New Zealand. It competes in the Australian A-League, under licence from Football Federation Australia. Phoenix entered the competition in the 2007–08 season after its formation in March 2007, by New Zealand Football to replace New Zealand Knights as a New Zealand-based club in the Australian A-League competition. 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup
The 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup will be the 19th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth football championship contested by the under-17 national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It will be held in Peru from 10 November to 2 December 2023. The FIFA U-17 World Cup returns after four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced FIFA to cancel the tournament in 2021. Brazil are the defending champions, having won in 2019. Host selection Peru were announced as the 2021 U-17 World Cup hosts following a FIFA Council meeting on 24 October 2019 in Shanghai, China. The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the 17th FIFA U-17 World Cup, a biennial international football tournament contested by men's under-17 national teams. Organised by FIFA, the tournament took place in India between 6 and 28 October 2017, after the country was awarded the hosting rights on 5 December 2013. The tournament marked the first time India have hosted a FIFA tournament and the first Asian country to host U-17 World Cup since United Arab Emirates in 2013. The 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the fourteenth tournament of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, and the eleventh played since the change in age limits from under 16s to Under 17s in 1991.
