Affect, in psychology, is the underlying experience of feeling, emotion, attachment theory, attachment, or Mood (psychology), mood. Lisa Feldman Barrett
Lisa Feldman Barrett is a Canadian-American psychologist. She is a University Distinguished Professor of psychology at Northeastern University, where she focuses on affective science and co-directs the Interdisciplinary Affective Science Laboratory. She has received both of the highest scientific honors in the field of psychology, the William James Fellow Award from the Association for Psychological Science for 2025, and the Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions from the American Psychological Association for 2021, as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship. James Gross
James J. Gross is a psychologist best known for his research in emotion and emotion regulation. He is a professor at Stanford University and the director of the Stanford Psychophysiology Laboratory. Education Gross received his B.A. in philosophy from Yale University in 1987, where he was awarded the Alpheus Henry Snow Prize. He was a graduate visiting student at Oxford University from 1987 to 1988 and received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1993. Affective science is the scientific study of emotion or affect. This includes the study of emotion elicitation, emotional experience and the recognition of emotions in others.
