Snowboarding At The 2018 Winter Olympics – Women's Big Air
The women's big air competition of the 2018 Winter Olympics was held on 19 and 22 February 2018 at the Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The event made its Olympic debut. Qualification The top 30 athletes in the Olympic quota allocation list qualified (for both big air and slopestyle, the rankings were combined). This meant only a maximum of 30 could qualify across both events. A maximum of four athletes per National Olympic Committee (NOC) was allowed. All athletes qualifying must also have placed in the top 30 of a FIS World Cup event (in either big air or slopestyle) or the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2017 during the qualification period (1 July 2016 to 21 January 2018) and also have a minimum of 50 FIS points to compete. Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre (알펜시아 스키점프 경기장) is a ski jumping hills located at Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Sina Candrian
Sina Candrian (born 21 November 1988 in Flims) is a Swiss snowboarder competing in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Career Candrian's career in competitive snowboarding began in 2005, when she took 3rd place in the FIS Junior World Championships in Zermatt. The following year, she placed first in Big Air at the FIS Junior World Snowboard Championships in Korea. Her first TTR event was the Burton European Open, also in 2006, at Laax. She placed 4th in the 6Star Roxy Chicken Jam Slopestyle and won the Halfpipe at the 6Star O'Neill Evolution. At the end of the 2007–08 season, she was placed 6th in the world in the TTR. In 2008–09, she placed 2nd in Slopestyle at the 6Star Burton European Open and ended the season ranked 7th. In 2009–10, she placed 5th in the Roxy Chicken Jam and 2nd in the 6Star Burton European Open, and also won the first FIS Slopestyle Contest in Calgary. Sofya Fyodorova
Sofya Vyacheslavovna Fyodorova (alternatively romanized as Fedorova) (russian: Софья Вячеславовна Фёдорова; born 4 September 1998) is a Russian snowboarder. Biography Sofya was born in Moscow. She began snowboarding at age 13. In the 2013–14 season she took second place in the Russian Championship in slopestyle and third place in the halfpipe. In the 2014-15 season she won the national championships and the Russia Student Games, both in halfpipe. In the 2015–16 season she won three European Cups in slopestyle. Cheryl Maas
Cheryl Maas (born 28 September 1984) is a Dutch snowboarder, who competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, finishing 11th at the halfpipe. She also competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, finishing 20th in slopestyle and in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang where she finished 23rd in slopestyle and 20th in big air. She started snowboarding in 1993. In 2004, she played in the snowboard movie ''Dropstitch''. 2016 Oslo Cheryl Maas took home a gold medal during the women’s big air event.
