The women's snowboard cross competition of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics was held at Cypress Mountain on February 16, 2010. Cypress Bowl Ski Area
Cypress Mountain is a ski area in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, located in the southern section of Cypress Provincial Park, operated under a BC Parks Park Use Permit. The ski resort is a 30-minute drive north of downtown Vancouver, and has 53 named alpine ski runs (many accessible for night skiing) and 19 km of cross country trails. Snowshoeing tours are also popular. Snow schools and rentals, Cypress Creek Grill, Gold Medal Cafe and Crazy Raven Bar and Grill and a Big Bear Sports retail shop are also located on the premises in the Cypress Creek Lodge. Faye Gulini (born March 24, 1992) is a professional American snowboarder born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She competes for the US Snowboarding Team in the disciplines of snowboard cross, slopestyle, and halfpipe. She is a four-time Olympian (2010, 2014, 2018, 2022). Early life Gulini started riding at a ski resort at Snowbird, in her home state, when she was nine years old. Her siblings, Erin, Zachary, and Nate, were the ones that originally got her into snowboarding. Her hobbies include rock climbing, skateboarding and camping. She likes soccer, wakeboarding and swimming in lakes and in the ocean. Career At the age of 10, Gulini joined the Snowbird Snowboard Team. Callan Chythlook-Sifsof (born February 14, 1989) is an American snowboarder who has competed in snowboard cross since 2005. In 2006, she was invited to her first Winter X Games competition and won a silver medal in 2011. She won the U.S. National Championships in Tamarack, Idaho in 2007. In 2008 she won the Jeep King of the Mountain World snowboard series in Sun Valley. Her best World Cup finishes were 2nd place in Furano, Japan in 2006 and 2nd place in Arosa, Switzerland in 2011. Dominique Maltais (born 9 November 1980) is a Canadian snowboarder, specialising in snowboard cross. She is a two-time Olympic medallist, winning a bronze medal at the 2006 Torino Games and a silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Games.
