Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs (musical)
''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' is a musical with music by Frank Churchill and Jay Blackton, lyrics by Larry Morey and Joe Cook, and book by Joe Cook. Adapted from Walt Disney Productions' 1937 animated musical film of the same name – which in turn had been based on the classic 1812 German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm – about a princess banished from her kingdom by her vain stepmother, and she comes to live with seven dwarfs in their woodland home. First produced in 1969, the show carries much of the film's score over, by Churchill and Morey, along with four new songs by Blackton and Cook. It ran a total of 106 performances. Frank Churchill
Frank Edwin Churchill (October 20, 1901 – May 14, 1942) was an American film composer and songwriter. He wrote most of the music for films directed by Walt Disney, such as ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'', ''Dumbo'', ''Bambi'', '' The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad'', and ''Peter Pan''. Life and career Churchill was born on October 20, 1901 in Rumford, Maine, the son of Clara E. (Curtis) and Andrew J. Churchill. Churchill began his career playing piano in cinemas at the age of 15 in Ventura, California. After dropping out of medical studies at UCLA to pursue a career in music, he became an accompanist at the Los Angeles radio station KNX (AM) in 1924. Anne Hollingshead Francine (August 8, 1917 – December 3, 1999) was an American actress and cabaret singer. Biography Francine was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Philadelphia socialite parents Albert and Emilie Francine. She was raised on the Main Line region of suburban Philadelphia. She won an amateur singing contest and began performing as a cabaret singer in the 1930s at the Coq Rouge. Other notable engagements included the Copacabana and the Algonquin. Yolande Bavan
Yolande Bavan (born June 1, 1942) is a Sri Lankan singer and actress. Career Bavan toured Australia and Asia as a performer with Graeme Bell's band early in her career. She is best known for replacing Annie Ross in the jazz vocal group Lambert, Hendricks & Ross after Ross was forced to leave the group due to poor health in 1962. She recorded three albums, all live recordings, with the group under the name of Lambert, Hendricks & Bavan. In 1964, she and Dave Lambert left the group, effectively ending the trio. She appeared on ''To Tell the Truth'' in 1962 and in a rare feat, the singing group appeared and sang "This Could Be the Start of Something".
