Slovenia competed in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. The country earned no medals. Slovenian Olympic Committee ( sl, Olimpijski komite Slovenije, OKS) ensures the participation of Slovenian athletes at the Olympic Games, the Mediterranean Games, and the European Youth Olympic Festival. Members of the Committee are 39 Sports Federations, which elect the Executive Council composed of the president and 21 members. History The Slovenian Olympic Committee was founded on 15 October 1991 and official admitted as a member of the International Olympic Committee on 17 January 1992, which enabled Slovenian athletes performance at the Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. Špela Pretnar
Špela Pretnar (born 5 March 1973) is a Slovenian former alpine skiing, alpine skier. In her career, Pretnar won six races in Alpine Skiing World Cup races, with 13 podiums altogether. In the 2000 Alpine Skiing World Cup, 1999–2000 season, she won a small crystal globe in Slalom skiing, slalom. Pretnar was named Slovenian Sportsman of the year, Slovenian sportswoman of the year in 2000. Pretnar represented Slovenia at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Currently, Pretnar is a sports reporter at a Slovenian commercial TV station POP TV. Andreja Koblar (née ''Grašič'', born September 2, 1971 in Kranj, SFR Yugoslavia) is a former Slovenian biathlete. Career Andreja Koblar, who now resides in Križe began her career in biathlon in 1993 and was part of the national team since that season. She made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup in the season opener in Bad Gastein, where she finished 24th at the 20 km individual. A year later, again in Bad Gastein for the first time in her career she came home in the top ten finishing #7 at the sprint. She was most notably consistent in the individual event ever since where she claimed three World Cup victories (1995-96 in Osrblie, 1996/97 in Nozawa Onsen and 1997/98 in Östersund). Overall, she managed a total of nine podiums - seven individual and two sprint ones. In 1996 Koblar was 4th in the World Cup total and placed 6th in 1997-1998 season. Aleksandar "Sašo" Grajf (born 25 June 1965 in Maribor, SR Slovenia) is a Slovenian biathlete and cross-country skier who competed at five Olympics from 1984 to 2002.
