The Slovenia men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team of Slovenia. The team is controlled by the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. History Slovenia played its first game in 1992 against Estonia during the Pool C qualification tournament of the 1993 IIHF World U20 Championship. Slovenia won the game 4–3 however failed to qualify for the Group C tournament after finishing second in their group and outside of the only next round qualification spot which went to Latvia. During the same tournament Slovenia also achieved their largest win in international participation after they beat Greece 30–1. For the next two years Slovenia remained to the Pool C qualification tournament but failed to qualify in both years. Greece Men's National Junior Ice Hockey Team
The Greek men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team in Greece. They played in two World Junior Championships in 1991 and 1992, as well as the qualification tournament for 1993. They have not officially participated since 1993 then. History The junior national team of Greece was formed in 1990 and played its first international competition in the World Junior Championships held in Yugoslavia. They lost their first game 33–1 against Yugoslavia on December 27, 1990. They continued their losing streak with a 22–1 loss to Bulgaria. The 1998 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''1998 WJHC'') were held in Helsinki and Hämeenlinna, Finland. The championships began on December 25, 1997, and finished on January 3, 1998. Home team Finland was the winner, defeating Russia 2–1 in the gold medal game, thanks to the goaltending of Mika Noronen and the overtime heroics of Niklas Hagman. Switzerland defeated the Czech Republic 4–3 to capture the bronze medal, their first and only medal in the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. Canada had its five-year title streak broken with its worst placing to date (8th). The 1997 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships were held in Geneva and Morges, Switzerland. The tournament was won by Canada, who won their record fifth-straight gold medal with a 2–0 victory over the United States in the gold medal match. The 1996 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''1996 WJHC'') was the 20th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, hosted in Massachusetts. The tournament was won by Canada—defeating Sweden 4–1 in the gold-medal game—earning Canada their fourth straight gold medal and ninth overall, tying the Soviet team's record in both regards. Attendance was less than spectacular for the championships in the United States. It would be the last time the US would host the tournament until 2005 in Grand Forks.
