A slam dunk, also simply known as dunk, is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air, controls the ball above the horizontal plane of the rim, and scores by shoving the ball directly through the basket with one or both hands.Merriam-Webster refers the ter"slam dunk"to the ter"dunk shot" which is defined as "a shot in basketball made by jumping high into the air and throwing the ball down through the basket". ''Alive and Well'' is the ninth studio album by heavy metal band Quiet Riot. It was recorded following a reunion of the classic 80's Quiet Riot lineup of Kevin DuBrow, Rudy Sarzo, Carlos Cavazo, and Frankie Banali. "Slam Dunk (Da Funk)" is a song by British boy band Five, released in late 1997 as the first single from their debut album, ''Five'' (1998). Featuring a blend of pop and rap, the single was written and produced by Jake Schulze, Max Martin, and Denniz Pop. It contains a sample of "Clap Your Hands" by Herbie Crichlow. The single reached number 10 on the UK Singles Chart and sold around 500,000 copies worldwide. Some notable signees include You Me at Six and Decade. The label evolved from "Slam Dunk", a weekly club night held at the city's Cockpit music venue, centered on emo, punk, ska and metal music. ''Kung Fu Dunk'' (), also known by its former title ''Slam Dunk'', is a 2008 Chinese-language action comedy film. It was directed by Taiwanese director Kevin Chu and filmed in Taiwan and mainland China. ''Sister's Slam Dunk'' () is a South Korean reality show that aired every Friday on KBS 2TV from April 8 to December 2, 2016. The Slamdunk Film Festival was a "counter-festival" in Park City, Utah Park City is a city in Utah, United States. The vast majority is in Summit County, and it extends into Wasatch County. It is considered to be part of the Wasatch Back. A smash in tennis is a shot that is hit above the hitter's head with a serve-like motion. It is also referred to as an overhead. A smash can usually be hit with a high amount of force and is often a shot that ends the point. Most smashes are hit fairly near the net or in mid-court before the ball bounces, generally against lobs that have not been hit high enough or deep enough by the opponent.
