Skylar Thomas (soccer)
Skylar Rutherford Thomas (born July 27, 1993) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays for Memphis 901 in the USL Championship. Club career Early career Thomas began playing soccer at age six with Pickering SC. Thomas attended Syracuse University for four years, playing for the Orange. During his senior year at Syracuse in 2014, he was named All-ACC Second Team and NSCAA All-South Region Second Team. In 2012, he played with TFC Academy in the Canadian Soccer League. Toronto FC II Thomas was drafted in the first round, 11th overall, in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC on January 15, 2015. On March 12 it was announced that he had signed with Toronto's affiliate team, Toronto FC II in the USL ahead of their inaugural season. He made his debut on April 19 against Whitecaps FC 2 as a substitute for Daniel Fabrizi. Toronto FC Academy, also known as TFC Academy, is the youth academy and development system of Canadian Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. The academy has divisions from U14 to U19 and includes over 110 young players. The senior academy team is known as Toronto FC III. History The TFC Academy's U-18 squad began playing in the Canadian Soccer League in 2008, with the U-16 squad competing in the CSL Reserve Division as TFC Academy II. The Grenada national football team represents Grenada in international football and is controlled by the Grenada Football Association, a member of the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF. The Canada U-20 men's national soccer team (also known as Canada Under-20s or Canada U-20s) represents Canada in international soccer at this age level. They are overseen by the Canadian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Canada. It plays a large role in the development of Canadian soccer, and is considered to be the feeder team for the Canada men's national soccer team. The Canadian Premier League (CPL or CanPL; french: Première ligue canadienne, links=no) is a professional men's Association football, soccer league in Canada. At the top of the Canadian soccer league system, it is the country's primary national soccer league competition. The league consists of eight teams, from five of provinces and territories of Canada, Canada's ten provinces. Each team plays 28 games in the regular season which is followed by playoffs culminating in the Canadian Premier League Finals, CPL Finals. Daniel Fabrizi (born February 22, 1992) is a Canadian soccer player who played as a defender. Club career College soccer Fabrizi played for York University for four years. In his final year in 2014, York won both the OUA and CIS championships, with Fabrizi earning OUA West first-team all-star honours. CSL In 2009, he played in the Canadian Soccer League with TFC Academy. He would sign on for the 2010 season. The following season he departed from Toronto FC's youth system to play with league rivals SC Toronto. In his debut season with Toronto, he assisted the club in securing the First Division title.
