Ski Jumping At The 2022 Winter Olympics – Women's Normal Hill Individual
The Women's normal hill individual competition of the Beijing 2022 Olympics was held on 5 February, at the Snow Ruyi hill in Zhangjiakou. Summary Urša Bogataj of Slovenia won the event; it was also her first Olympic medal. Katharina Althaus of Germany repeated her 2018 performance and won the silver medal, thereby becoming the first woman who won multiple Olympic medals in ski jumping. Nika Križnar, also from Slovenia, won bronze. It was Slovenia's first ever gold medal in ski jumping. The 2018 champion, Maren Lundby, withdrew from the Olympics. The 2018 silver medalist, Althaus, and the bronze medalist, Sara Takanashi, both qualified. Ema Klinec competed as the 2021 World champion. Ski Jumping
Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the farthest jump after sliding down on their skis from a specially designed curved ramp. Along with jump length, competitor's aerial style and other factors also affect the final score. Ski jumping was first contested in Norway in the late 19th century, and later spread through Europe and North America in the early 20th century. Along with cross-country skiing, it constitutes the traditional group of Nordic skiing disciplines. The ski jumping venue, commonly referred to as a ''hill'', consists of the jumping ramp (''in-run''), take-off table, and a landing hill. Each jump is evaluated according to the distance traveled and the style performed. The distance score is related to the construction point (also known as the ''K-point''), which is a line drawn in the landing area and serves as a "target" for the competitors to reach. Lisa Eder (born 12 August 2001) is an Austrian ski jumper. Career On 9 August 2015 she started in the Alpencup for the first time. When she jumped the small Vogtlandschanzen in Klingenthal, she took 18th place. She celebrated her first victory in the Alpencup on 11 August 2016 on the Pöhlbachschanze in Pöhla. On 18 August 2017 she was allowed to start in the Continental Cup for the first time and finished 15th on the Fichtelbergschanzen in Oberwiesenthal. Frida Westman (born 10 January 2001) is a Swedish ski jumper who competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics. She was the first Swedish female ski jumper at an Olympic Games. Westman has the best finish by any Swedish female ski jumper at a FIS Ski Jumping World Cup event. is a Japanese ski jumper. Ito has won five individual World Cup events, three team events, and finished as the overall runner-up in the 2016–17 season.
