Ski Federation Of Pakistan
The Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan is the national governing body to develop and promote the sport of skiing in Pakistan. The federation was formed in December 1990. Affiliations The Federation is affiliated with the Pakistan Olympic Association and is a member of its executive council. It is also a recognized body with the Pakistan Sports Board. Internationally the federation is affiliated with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and the Asian Ski Federation. International Ski And Snowboard Federation
The International Ski and Snowboard Federation, also known as FIS (french: Fédération Internationale de Ski et de Snowboard), is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. It was previously known as the International Ski Federation () until 26 May 2022 when the name was changed to include snowboard. Founded on 2 February 1924 in Chamonix, France during the inaugural Winter Olympic Games, FIS is responsible for the Olympic skiing disciplines, namely Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding. The FIS is also responsible for setting the international competition rules. The organization has a membership of 132 national ski associations, and is based in Oberhofen am Thunersee, Switzerland. Alpine Club Of Pakistan
The Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) is a non governmental sports organisation for the promotion of mountaineering, climbing and other mountain-related adventure activities in Pakistan. In addition to this, the club serves as the national sports governing body for the sport of mountaineering and climbing in Pakistan. History The club was founded in 1974, and has its head office at the Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad. Since 1977, the Club has trained a large number of its members, armed forces personnel, locals, liaisons and ladies in rock and ice climbing, mountaineering, and other mountain tourism related activities at its training institute at Nilt in Gilgit Baltistan. Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation or PTDC ( ur, ) is an organization of the Government of Pakistan. PTDC is governed by the Board of Directors and provides transportation to various areas and owns and runs several motels across the country. It was incorporated on 30 March 1970.
