Skegss EPs
Skegss are an Australian surf and garage rock trio originally from Byron Bay, New South Wales. The band's line-up consists of Toby Cregan (bass, vocals, guitar), Jonny Lani (drums) and Ben Reed (vocals, guitar, bass). They have released several extended plays and toured both nationwide and internationally. Skegss made international headlines after accusing American rappers Reese and Lil Yachty of copying the cover art for that collaboration's single, "Do It", from the band's 2015 EP, ''50 Push Ups for a Dollar''. Their debut studio album, ''My Own Mess'', was released in September 2018 and peaked at number 2 on the ARIA Album Charts. In October 2020 the group re-released ''50 Push Ups for a Dollar'' on vinyl, which reached number 4. They followed with a double EP as a vinyl compilation album, ''Holiday Food/Everyone Is Good at Something'', re-released in November 2020, which reached number 17. The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The charts are a record of the highest selling songs and albums in various genres in Australia. ARIA Award For Best Rock Album
The ARIA Music Award for Best Rock Album, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. It is handed out by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation whose aim is "to advance the interests of the Australian record industry." To be eligible, the recording must be an album in the contemporary rock, modern rock and active rock formats, and cannot be entered in other genre categories. The accolade is voted for by the ARIA Judging Academy, which consists of 1000 members from different areas of the music industry, and is given to a solo artist or group who is either from Australia or an Australian resident. ARIA Music Awards Of 2019
The ARIA Music Awards of 2019 are the 33rd Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) and consist of a series of awards, including the 2019 ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Hall of Fame Awards, and ARIA Fine Arts Awards and the ARIA Awards. The ARIA Awards ceremony were held on 27 November 2019 and broadcast from the Star Event Centre, Sydney around Australia on the Nine Network. Guy Sebastian hosted the ceremony, he also performed his track, "Choir", and won two categories. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. Triple J Hottest 100, 2017
The 2017 Triple J Hottest 100 was announced on 27 January 2018. It was the 25th countdown of the most popular songs of the year, as chosen by listeners of Australian radio station Triple J. A record-breaking number of voters (2.386 million) participated by choosing their top ten songs of 2017. Kendrick Lamar's " Humble" was voted into first place, making him the first person of colour ever to top a Hottest 100. It was also the first track by a non-Australian artist, and the first hip hop song, to win since 2012's "Thrift Shop".
