The title (" rock" in Polish) is a nod to the singer's 1995 breakthrough album, '' Kamień'' ("stone"). Musically, ''Skała'' continues ''Kamień''s soul and jazz-inspired sound. To promote the album, Kayah embarked on an acoustic concert tour and released two singles: "Jak skała" and "Ocean Spokojny już". Kayah (singer)
Katarzyna Magdalena Rooijens (née Szczot; born 5 November 1967 in Warsaw), professionally known as Kayah, is a Polish singer-songwriter performing a variety of music genres, including pop, soul, jazz, world and dance. She has also experimented with disco, funk, electronica as well as Balkan and Jewish music. Kayah released her first self-written album in 1995 and has since established herself as one of the most critically and commercially successful Polish singers. She is one of the most awarded artists by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (ZPAV) and has placed fourth on Polish music magazine '' Machina''s list of "50 best Polish female singers". The chart exists since 23 October 2000 and is provided by Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry, ZPAV. This is a chart of best selling music albums in the Polish media market, involving 50 matches. This overview is based on data from 233 points of sale: 227 stores of the largest retail chains in Poland: Empik (121 stores), Real (hypermarket), Real (53 stores), Media Markt (38 stores) and Saturn (store), Saturn (15 stores), two of the largest Polish internet stores: Merlin.pl, Rockserwis.pl and 4 retail stores. The Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry ( pl, Związek Producentów Audio-Video, ZPAV) is the trade organization that represents the interests of the music industry in Poland, and the Polish chapter of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Music recording certification is a system of certifying that a music Sound recording, recording has shipped, sold, or streamed a certain number of units. The threshold quantity varies by type (such as album, single, music video) and by nation or territory (see List of music recording certifications). The Polish music charts are provided by ZPAV, the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (Polish: Związek Producentów Audio-Video). Albums charts In the 1970s and the 1980s, Polish music monthly ''Non Stop'' published a year-end list of the best selling albums in Poland. In the mid-1990s, two monthly sales lists were launched and published in music magazines. The first one was a top 50 compiled by ZPAV, based on shipment, not sales, which continues to be published to date. The other was a top 100 called Gorąca Setka (English: Hot 100), printed monthly in ''Gazeta Muzyczna''. This chart was compiled from actual sale figures as reported by over 130 music shops across Poland and included both albums and singles. The Fryderyk is the annual award in Polish music. Its name refers to the original Polish spelling variant of Polish composer Frédéric Chopin's first name. Its status in the Polish public can be compared to the American Grammy and the UK's BRIT Award. Officially created in 1994 and presented for the first time in 1995, the award was initially conferred by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (''Związek Producentów Audio-Video'', ZPAV). Since 1999, nominees and winners have been selected by a body called Phonographic Academy (''Akademia Fonograficzna'') which by now consists of nearly 1000 artists, journalists and music industry professionals. Jazz
