Skateboarding At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Street
The 2020 Summer Olympics women's street skateboarding competition occurred on 26 July 2021 at Ariake Urban Sports Park in Tokyo, Japan. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Momiji Nishiya of Japan won the gold medal, with Rayssa Leal of Brazil and Funa Nakayama of the Japan winning the silver and bronze medals. Qualification * 3 from the World Championships * 16 from the World Olympic Rankings * 1 host nation place Competition format All 20 skateboarders did two 45-second runs, and then five single tricks rounds. Only the top 4 scores from the seven rounds for each skateboarder counted toward the final score. The top 8 skateboarders from the Semi-Final qualified for the finals, where the scores were reset and follow the same two 45 second round and five single trick round format. Ariake Urban Sports Park
is an outdoor sports facility located in the Ariake district of Kōtō, Tokyo and built for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The venue covers a total area of 97,000 m². Skateboarding at the 2020 Summer Olympics was an event held in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. It was the debut appearance of skateboarding at the Summer Olympics. Skateboarding was one of four new sports added to the Olympic program for 2020; it is also provisionally approved for the 2024 Summer Olympic games. Alana Smith (born October 20, 2000) is an American professional skateboarder from Mesa, Arizona. They are goofy-footed. Skateboarding career In 2013, at the age of 12, Smith landed a 540 McTwist and became the youngest medalist in X Games history when they won silver in the women's park event at the X Games Barcelona. They finished first in the Girls Combi Pool Classic at the World Cup of Skateboarding in 2015. In 2016, Smith and Nora Vasconcellos joined the skate team of the Eugene, Oregon boardshop Tactics, as the brand's female ambassadors. Julia Brueckler or Julia Brückler (born 28 November 1989) is an Austrian professional street skateboarder. She is regarded as one of the first female skateboarders in Austria. Her partner Cody McEntire is also a professional skateboarder. Career Julia began pursuing her interest in skateboarding at the age of 12 after being inspired by her boys counterparts at the middle school who all played the sport enthusiastically. Charlotte Hym
Charlotte Hym (born 30 October 1992) is a French street skateboarder and neuroscientist based in Paris. Early life and education Hym was born in Paris and grew up close to Boulevard Richard-Lenoir. She asked for a skateboard at the age of twelve because she saw so many people skateboarding in her local area. Hym obtained a bachelor's degree in Sport sciences at the Paris Descartes University in 2013, and completed a master's degree in Neuroscience from the same university in 2015. She remained in neuroscience as a doctoral researcher, focusing on cognitive neuroscience at psychology in the laboratory of Marianne Barbu-Roth. Hayley Wilson (born 29 October 2001) is a goofy-footed Australian skateboarder from Mansfield, Victoria, Australia. Andrea Claudia Benítez Rivera (born 29 September 1994) is a Spanish professional skateboarder, recognized in that sport at the national level. Biography Benítez started skating when she was less than 10 years old and soon after, she learned her first trick, a shove-it.
