Sitting Volleyball At The 2012 Summer Paralympics
Volleyball at the 2012 Summer Paralympics was held from 30 August to 8 September at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in London. Two sitting volleyball team events were held, one for men and one for women. In the men's sitting event, Iran were the defending champions. Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran were the finalists in 2000, 2004 and 2008, with Iran winning in 2000 and 2008 and Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2004. These two countries met once more in the final in Beijing, with Iran emerging victorious by 3–0. Egypt finished fourth in Beijing, beaten 2–3 by Russia, who took bronze. Bosnia and Herzegovina's men's team won the gold in 2012, beating Iran 3-1, although Iran had also won by 3-1 against them in the group stage. The London Games marked the third time the women's sitting event was held. China were the defending champions. The Netherlands took silver, and the United States bronze, in 2004. World ParaVolley
World ParaVolley, formerly the World Organization Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD), is an international organization that is for people with physical disabilities. It is affiliated with the International Paralympic Committee(IPC). The World Organization Volleyball for Disabled was established in 1981 and was part of the International Sports Organization for Disabled (ISOD). In 1992 the WOVD became its own separate Organization in Barcelona, Spain. The WOVD Headquarters were also established in the Netherlands. The WOVD is responsible for managing and controlling the conduct of international volleyball competitions for men, women and youth. Sabahudin Delalić
Sabahudin Delalić (born 17 August 1972, in Sarajevo) is a sitting volleyball player from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the current captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team – ASOBiH. He has won four medals at Summer Paralympics. At the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, he won gold medal as well as at the 2012 London Games. Also, he won silver medals at 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney and at 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, where he was also bearer of national flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Benis ( fa, بنیس, ; az, Bennis) is a rural village in Guney-ye Sharqi Rural District, in the Central District of Shabestar County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. Structure and history The layout of Benis is centralized; the village is surrounded by nearby mountains, which supply a stream that feeds into a local aqueduct.
