''Sirene'' (Norwegian for 'siren' but referencing the voodoo "Mami Wata") is the fifth studio album by Norway, Norwegian Hard rock band Skambankt. It was recorded at Propeller Studios with Kåre Vestrheim as producer. The album is described as "mature, dark, and heavy, and at the same time more catchy and ambitious than before". The demo for the album was recorded at Bore Gardsrockeri, an old potato cellar in Klepp in Jæren/Norway, throughout the years 2012 and 2013. The lyrics were mostly written by Terje Winterstø Røthing. The Norwegian singer/songwriter Tønes contributes to the record, singing on the song ''Sånne som deg''. Skambankt
Skambankt (''Beaten to a pulp'' or ''beaten up'') is a Norwegian hard rock band from Klepp, just south of Stavanger. They play a mixture of classic rock'n'roll, punk and hardrock in the tradition of bands like Motörhead, AC/DC, Sex Pistols, Ramones and The Stooges. All the lyrics are in Norwegian. History The band was founded in 1994 when a band who was going to play at a concert couldn't make it. They took the challenge to step in for the cancelled act, and wrote nine songs the same day and performed them later that evening. The line-up was Ted Winters on guitar and vocals, Don Fist on bass, and Hanz Panzer on drums. But at that time there was not more than a few live-gigs and some demo recordings. Ten years later, the original Skambankt line-up met at a stag-party where there was a stage with full backline. Some time after midnight, a decision was made that the band should be continued. This time, it was easy to get a record deal, and after Hans Panzer shifted to play the ...

Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In the late 1960s, bands such as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring, Steppenwolf and Deep Purple also produced hard rock. The genre developed into a major form of popular music in the 1970s, with the Who, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple being joined by Queen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kiss, and Van Halen. During the 1980s, some hard rock bands moved away from their hard rock roots and more towards pop rock.V. Bogdanov, C. Woodstra and S. T. Mami Wata
Mami Wata (Mammy Water), or La Sirene, is a water spirit venerated in West, Central, and Southern Africa and in the African diaspora in the Americas. Mami Wata spirits are usually female but are sometimes male., p. 1. Attributes Appearance The appearance of her hair ranges from straight, curly to wooly black and combed straight back.Van Stipriaan 325.Bastian, Misty L"Nwaanyi Mara Mma: Mami Wata, the More Than Beautiful Woman" Department of Anthropology, Franklin & Marshall College.
