Lipton Challenge Cup
The Lipton Challenge Cup also known as Coppa Lipton was a football competition competed between clubs from Southern Italy and Sicily. It was played during the period leading up to World War I when football in the country was still in its infancy. History The competition was organised by Sir Thomas Lipton of the world famous Lipton Tea brand. The Copa Lipton or Copa de Caridad Lipton was a football friendly competition contested between Argentina and Uruguay national teams. The competition was held 29 times between 1905 and 1992. Eugen Kipp (26 February 1885 – 4 November 1931) was a German footballer who played as a forward. Eugen was a member of the German Olympic squad and played one match in the main tournament. Biography On 5 April 1908, Kipp went down in history as one of the eleven footballers who played in the first game of the German national team in an friendly against Switzerland that ended in a 3-5 loss. Enea Zuffi (; 27 December 1891 – 14 July 1968) was an Italian footballer who played as a forward and midfielder. Biography Zuffi was born in Turin, Italy, on 27 December 1891 to mother Alice Drake and father Enea Zuffi. At a club level, he played for both teams from his hometown, Torino F.C. and Juventus F.C. He played nine games with Torino from 1908 to 1910 and scored one goal, and played twenty-one games with Juventus from 1910 to 1912.
