A Singaporean passport is a travel document and passport issued to citizens and nationals of the Republic of Singapore. It enables the bearer to exit and re-enter Singapore freely; travel to and from other countries in accordance with Visa requirements for Singaporean citizens, visa requirements, and secure Consular assistance, assistance from Singapore consular officials abroad, if necessary. All Singapore passports are issued exclusively by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Singapore), Ministry of Home Affairs. National Registration Identity Card
The National Registration Identity Card (NRIC), colloquially known as "IC" ( ms, Kad Pengenalan Pendaftaran Negara; ; ta, அடையாள அட்டை) is the compulsory identity document issued to citizens and permanent residents of Singapore. People must register for an NRIC within one year of attaining the age of 15, or upon becoming a citizen or permanent resident. Re-registrations are required for persons attaining the ages of 30 and 55, unless the person has been issued with an NRIC within ten years prior to the re-registration ages. A machine-readable passport (MRP) is a machine-readable travel document (MRTD) with the data on the identity page encoded in optical character recognition format. Many countries began to issue machine-readable travel documents in the 1980s. Most travel passports worldwide are MRPs. Straits Settlements
The Straits Settlements were a group of British territories located in Southeast Asia.
