Simone Grippo
Simone Grippo (born 12 December 1988) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays for FC Lausanne-Sport as a central defender. He was a Swiss youth international footballer. Career Club Born and living in Ettingen, Grippo started his youth football with the local amateur club FC Ettingen. In the summer of 2005, Grippo joined the youth department of FC Basel and played in their U-18 team during the 2005–06 season, under coach Patrick Rahmen and his assistant Marco Walker and with them won both the Swiss U-18 championship and the U-19/18 national cup that season. In the summer of 2006 he advanced to join their U-21 team and before the season started attended the trainings of the first team under head coach Christian Gross. The 2011–12 Swiss Challenge League was the ninth season of the Swiss Challenge League, the second tier of the Swiss football league pyramid. It began on 22 July 2011 and ended on 23 May 2012. The champions of this season, St. Gallen, earned promotion to the 2012–13 Super League. Christian Gross
Christian Jürgen Gross (born 14 August 1954) is a Swiss football manager and former player who most recently coached Schalke 04. He played as a sweeper and central midfielder. Gross was manager of Basel from 1 July 1999 to 27 May 2009, winning four Swiss Super Leagues and four Swiss Cups. As manager of Tottenham Hotspur between November 1997 and September 1998, Gross became the first Swiss to manage in the Premier League. Playing career Gross began his playing career at SV Höngg before moving to Grasshopper in 1965, which he left in 1976. After two years at Lausanne-Sport and two seasons at Neuchâtel Xamax, he moved to Germany in 1980 to play for VfL Bochum of the Bundesliga.
