Silver is a chemical element with the Symbol (chemistry), symbol Ag (from the Latin ', derived from the Proto-Indo-European wikt:Reconstruction:Proto-Indo-European/h₂erǵ-, ''h₂erǵ'': "shiny" or "white") and atomic number 47. A soft, white, lustrous transition metal, it exhibits the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and reflectivity of any metal. The metal is found in the Earth's crust in the pure, free elemental form ("native silver"), as an alloy with gold and other metals, and in minerals such as argentite and chlorargyrite. Most silver is produced as a byproduct of copper, gold, lead, and zinc Refining (metallurgy), refining. Silver has long been valued as a precious metal. Silver (Boiled In Lead Album)
''Silver'' is the seventh album by Minneapolis Celtic rock band Boiled in Lead. The band's first studio album in 13 years, ''Silver'' also marked Boiled in Lead's 25th anniversary. The album also reflected a number of significant lineup changes. It was the band's first studio recording after the return of longtime lead singer Todd Menton, and the addition of guitarist Dean Magraw. Longtime drummer Robin Anders played on ''Silver'' and at the album's live release show, but would leave the group later that year. ''Green Man Review'' writer Chuck Lipsig noted that Menton's presence marked something of a return to the sound of the group's most musically eclectic albums, 1989's ''From the Ladle to the Grave'' and 1990's ''Orb''. The album again featured a strong Celtic flavor but also included Middle Eastern and Algerian influences on songs like "Berber" and "Menfi." The album also includes a cover of "The Sunset," originally performed by Frankie Kennedy and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh ...

Silver (The Wrens Album)
''Silver'' is the debut studio album by the alternative rock band The Wrens, released June 11, 1994. Critical reception ''Trouser Press'' wrote: "Frenetic guitar stylings in classic post-punk slapdash mode underpin most of the tracks; bassist Kevin Whelan, guitarists Greg Whelan and Charles Bissell and drummer Jerry MacDonnell take turns singing lead; the predominantly strained, nasal vocals render a lot of the lyrics indiscernible but lend a heartfelt charm." Silver (Starflyer 59 Album)
Starflyer 59, usually known as Silver, is the self-titled debut album of rock band Starflyer 59, released in 1994 on Tooth & Nail Records. It has acquired the name ''Silver'' due to its cover art. The album uses heavily distorted and effects-drenched guitars, influenced by British shoegaze and dream pop bands of the early 1990s. This is in contrast with the band's later work, which is characterized by a cleaner, more traditional, "American rock" sound. ''CCM Magazine'' commented that the release was "quite unlike anything else in Christian music" at the time. The record was produced by Jyro Xhan and Jerome Fontamillas, at the time members of the group Mortal, under the collective pseudonym "Blood". The album was reissued in 2005 as an extended edition which also included the band's follow-up EP ''She's the Queen''. This edition is digitally remastered and is packaged with slightly different artwork from that of the original release, replacing a solid silver cover with an ill ...
