Sili Province
Sili Province or Silizhou (司隸州), in the 5th century reconstituted as Si Province or Sizhou (司州), also known as the ''capital province'' or the ''imperial province'', was a province of ancient China. It encompassed the two Han dynasty capitals of Chang'ande Crespigny, p. 26. and Luoyang, and was bordered in the west by Liang Province. Sili Province was governed by the Director of Retainers (司隸 ''Sī Lì'').de Crespigny, p. 46. The province consisted of the commanderies of Henan (around Luoyang), Hedong, Henei, Hongnong, Jingzhao, Youfufeng and Zuopingyi (around Chang'an). In the early 5th century, the former Sili Province was reconstituted as Si Province or Sizhou by Liu Yu, the future founder of the Liu Song dynasty. Sili, Samoa
Sili is a village on the south side of Savai'i island in Samoa. Sili is situated inland, unlike most villages in Samoa which are settlements by the sea. The village lies within the electoral constituency of Palauli 1. The population is 1071. The people of Sili rely on subsistence agriculture for their livelihood. Due to its location away from the coast, fishing has minimal impact on the village economy. The Sili river, like most natural resources and land in Samoa, is situated on traditional land owned by the village. The river has cultural and historical significance for the people. Traditional knowledge and conservation is a key factor in village governance. Organic farming is used for all crops and the use of pesticides and chemicals are banned. Sully ( cy, Sili) is a village in the community of Sully and Lavernock, in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, lying on the northern coast of the Bristol Channel, midway between the towns of Penarth and Barry and 7 miles (11.3 kilometres) southwest of the Welsh capital city of Cardiff. Etymology Bilingual road signs at either end of the village announce ''Sully'' and ''Sili''. Although both forms could be considered to have unfavourable connotations, only the Welsh name has been controversial, as some residents have expressed the view that it belittles the village. The origins of the name ''Sully'' / ''Sili'' are unclear, but the most likely explanation is that it is a Norman name, taken from the de Sully family who were in possession of the manor in the twelfth century. Sully Island
Sully Island ( cy, Ynys Sili) is a small tidal island and Site of Special Scientific Interest at the hamlet of Swanbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, off the northern coast of the Bristol Channel, midway between the towns of Penarth and Barry and south of the Welsh capital city of Cardiff. Access to the island is on foot at low tide from the car park of the ''Captain's Wife'' public house. It is in extent and is one of 43 (unbridged) tidal islands which can be reached on foot from the mainland of England, Wales or Scotland. During the 13th century, the island was the base for Alfredo de Marisco, a Norman pirate known locally as The Night Hawk. Sili Bank, also known as Korea 626 Shenyang Co., is a North Korean financial company that provides email services in North Korea through its domain. Sili Bank (' meaning "true profit" in both Chinese and Korean) was established on September 12, 2001. Through its operation centre in Chilbosan Hotel in Shenyang, China, it offered a limited email relay service to and from North Korea, where Internet access was and is scarce. It initially charged a fee per every email sent. The Chilbosan Hotel has also served as a centre of North Korean computer hacking and cyber-warfare operations. Liang Sili
Liang Sili (; 24 August 1924 – 14 April 2016) was a Chinese aerospace engineer. He was elected an academician of the International Academy of Astronautics in 1987 and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993. He became the vice-president of the International Astronautical Federation in 1994. Liang was the youngest son of Chinese scholar and reformist Liang Qichao. His elder brothers, Liang Sicheng and Liang Siyong, were also academicians. Biography Liang graduated from Purdue University in 1945, majoring in Electrical Engineering. Wei Sili (韋嗣立; 654–719), courtesy name Yan'gou (延構), formally Duke Xiao of Xiaoyao (逍遙孝公), was an official of the Chinese Tang dynasty and Wu Zetian's Zhou dynasty, serving as a chancellor during the reigns of Wu Zetian, her sons Emperor Zhongzong and Emperor Ruizong, and her grandson Emperor Shang. Background Wei Sili was born in 654, during the reign of Emperor Gaozong.
