Sierra De Cogollos
The Sierra de Cogollos is a mountain range of the Baetic System in Granada Province, Andalusia, Spain. The range is located to the northeast of Granada city. Its highest point is the 1,889 m high Peñón del Majalijar peak. Geography The Sierra de Cogollos extends between the Vega de Granada valley to the west and the Axarquía in the east. To the north the narrow Blanco River valley separates it from the Sierra Arana and to the south, another narrow valley, carved by the Bermejo River marks the limit with the lower Sierra de la Yedra range. The northeastern sector of the Sierra de Cogollos merges with Sierra Arana. This mountain range includes the Peñón de la Mata, a limestone mountain topped by a massive rocky outcrop that is in height and that towers above Cogollos Vega town. A ''peñón'' (, "rock", pl. ''peñones'') is a term for certain offshore rocky island forts established by the Spanish Empire (especially in Africa). The geology of the Iberian Peninsula consists of the study of the rock formations on the Iberian Peninsula, which includes Spain, Portugal, Andorra, and Gibraltar. The Sierra de Huétor is a mountain range of the Baetic System in Granada Province, Andalusia, Spain. The range is located to the northeast of Granada city. The altitude of the summits ranges between and almost displaying a variety of different climates and habitats. Its highest point is 1,675 m high Cerro Buenavista. The Moors used one of the mountain springs in the range, the Fuente Grande in Alfácar, to supply water to the Albaicín in Grenada. The water was carried along an irrigation channel named Aynadamar. Sierra De La Alfaguara
The Sierra de la Alfaguara is a mountain range in the Cordillera Subbética, beside the Sierra de Huétor in southern Spain. It lies within the Parque Natural de la Sierra de Huétor y la Alfaguara. Location The mountain range rises above the town of Alfacar. Scenes from the movie ''Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'' were filmed on the mountain. The range contains the Arboretum La Alfaguara, formerly a tree nursery that supplied mainly coniferous plants for the reforestation of the entire Sierra de Huétor. The Darro River rises in this range, a short tributary of the Genil River.
