Sidney High School (Nebraska)
Sidney High School is the only high school in the city of Sidney, Nebraska, United States. The total enrollment as of February 2009 was 386. A new $17 million building was under construction during the 2008-2009 school year and was completed shortly after school started in August 2009. The new school was dedicated in August 2009. Sidney is in Class B in the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA). The school's mascot is the Red Raider. Sidney, Nebraska
Sidney is a city in and the county seat of Cheyenne County, Nebraska, United States. The city is north of the Colorado state line. The population was 6,757 at the 2010 census. History The city was named for Sidney Dillon, president of the Union Pacific Railroad. It was founded in 1867 by the Union Pacific and grew up around the military base of Fort Sidney (also known as Sidney Barracks), where soldiers were stationed to guard the transcontinental railroad against potential Indian attacks. High School

The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is a statewide organization which oversees interscholastic competition between high schools in the state of Nebraska. The NSAA is the only interscholastic activities association in Nebraska, thus, it serves both public and private schools. Classification The NSAA divides schools into classes, which are continuously assessed by examination of the size of the school's enrollment. Each activity has a varying number of classes, based on the amount of participating schools and the nature of the activity. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.
