Shy And The Fight
Shy and The Fight were a seven-piece Welsh acoustic folk / indie rock band from Llangollen, Wales and Chester, England. The band included Tom Hyndman (guitar, lead vocals), Carrie Anderson (violin, backing vocals), Christopher Done (bass, backing vocals), Michael Deponeo (lead guitar, vocals), Tom Wootton (drums), Samuel Williams (drums) and Jackson Almond (piano, banjo). The band have released two EPs, ''Shy and the Fight'' (2010), and ''First the Bird Fell'' (2014) plus one 7" vinyl single, "All That We See or Seem" / "Breaks" (Popty Ping, 2012). The group disbanded in 2014. History The band formed following Tom Hyndman's departure from Out From Animals / Scams, following Scams' performance at SXSW in 2010. Initially they were a 6-piece, with the later addition of Williams on drums. A first EP, a limited CD pressing titled ''Shy and the Fight'' at the tail end of 2010, sold out. Llangollen
Llangollen () is a town and community, situated on the River Dee, in Denbighshire, Wales. Its riverside location forms the edge of the Berwyn range, and the Dee Valley section of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the easternmost point of the Dee Valley Way being within the town. It had a population of 3,658 at the 2011 census. Gary Lloyd
Gary Lloyd (born 1965) is a Canadian-born British composer and producer. He has composed music for productions in theatre, contemporary dance, television drama and documentary, film, art installation, '' son et lumiere'', narrative/music works, and orchestral concert performances. Gorky's Zygotic Mynci
Gorky's Zygotic Mynci were a psychedelic folk and alternative rock band which formed in Carmarthen, Wales, in 1991. The group performed music in both Welsh and English, and they had eight Top 75 singles on the UK Singles Chart during their career. They were prominent during the era known as Cool Cymru. The group disbanded in May 2006. Biography The group was formed by Euros Childs (vocals and keyboards), John Lawrence (vocals and guitar) and Richard James (bass guitar) whilst still at Bro Myrddin Welsh Comprehensive School in Carmarthen. John Lawrence (musician)
John Lawrence (born 17 July 1975) is a Welsh musician. He was a founding member of Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, but left the band in 1999, prior to the release of the band's sixth album ''Spanish Dance Troupe''. As a solo artist, he has sometimes gone by the name Infinity Chimps. In early 2011, Lawrence recorded a session for Adam Walton on BBC Introducing, backed by the then-new band Shy and the Fight. In 2013, he released new material in collaboration with singer Jaci Williams. He has also been producing Tree of Wolves's material. Lawrence produced folk musician Chris Jones's debut album, ''Dacw'r Tannau'', released in September 2014. He has also worked with Band Pres Llareggub on their first EP, which was released in April 2015, and with Nia Morgan on her upcoming new album. Los Campesinos! are a seven-piece indie pop band from Cardiff, Wales, formed in early 2006 at Cardiff University. Though the band formed in Wales, none of the members are Welsh. The Delgados are a Scottish indie rock band formed in Glasgow in 1994. The band is composed of Alun Woodward (vocals, guitar), Emma Pollock (vocals, guitar), Stewart Henderson (bass guitar), and Paul Savage (drums).
