Shoutr
shoutr is a mobile application that allows users to transfer data of any kind between Android-powered devices. It works without an internet connection or pre-existing network infrastructure. All that is needed are two or more Android devices equipped with Wi-Fi technology. All data sent with shoutr is protected by WPA2 encryption. The technology behind shoutr is based on the Wi-Fi capability built into the respective Android device. This is used to connect devices directly: One device opens up a Wi-Fi hotspot; other devices connect to it and get the data - this does not need a Wi-Fi hotspot around. According to Google Play, shoutr is available for Android devices from Android 2.2 (Froyo) on. Nearby Share is a feature of Google's mobile and desktop operating systems Android and ChromeOS which allows data to be transferred via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Officially released to the general public on August 4, 2020 as the replacement of Android Beam, it provides rapid short-range exchange of images, videos, text, contact info, directions, YouTube videos, and other data. According to Google, Nearby Share allows users to reduce the time needed to send content down to simple taps. Description Usage Nearby Share is activated by enabling the feature on both sender and recipient devices. If the content can be sent, a bottom sheet will appear with a list of available contacts to share with. Choosing a contact from the list sends a prompt to the recipient that requires them to confirm the transfer. Zapya
Zapya (Chinese: 快牙; pinyin: kuai ya) is a peer-to-peer file sharing application that allows users to transfer files of any size and of any format without the need of an Internet connection. Dewmobile, Inc. initially conceived Kuai Ya in Silicon Valley, California, USA to target the Chinese market in 2012. However, the demand for the application spread to neighboring countries such as Myanmar and Pakistan. When the international user base had grown to a reasonable size, Dewmobile created a separate application known as Zapya to publish on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Briar (software)
Briar is an open-source software communication technology, intended to provide secure and resilient peer-to-peer communications with no centralized servers and minimal reliance on external infrastructure. Messages can be transmitted through Bluetooth, WiFi, over the internet via Tor or removable storage, such as USB sticks. All communication is end-to-end encrypted. Relevant content is stored in encrypted form on participating devices. Long-term plans for the project include support for distributed applications such as crisis mapping and collaborative document editing.
