Torino Palavela
Palavela, formerly known as Palazzo delle Mostre and Palazzo a Vela is an indoor arena that is located in Turin, Italy, on the bank of the River Po. It was designed by engineer Franco Levi and architects Annibale Rigotti, Annibale and Giorgio Rigotti. The arena is 130 metres in diameter. It has a seating capacity for a maximum 12,200 people, and 9,200 when configured for basketball games. The Palavela was featured in the 1969 film ''The Italian Job''. Caroline Hallisey
Caroline Hallisey-Kepka (born September 24, 1980) is an American speed skater and three-time Olympian. She competed for the United States at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Winter Olympics in short track speed skating. Biography Hallisey grew up in Natick, Massachusetts and began speed skating at a young age. Hallisey met bronze medallist J P Kepka at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs; the two later married. She is the cousin of figure skater, Stephen Carriere. She is currently a member and coach at the Bay State Skate Club. Following her retirement from speed skating in 2006, Hallisey attended the University of Colorado. She is currently a teacher at Glen Urquhart School in Beverly, Massachusetts. Allison Baver (born August 11, 1980) is an American retired short track speed skater. A member of the U.S. short track speed skating squad beginning in 2002, Baver earned multiple medials in ISU World Cup competition. Baver competed in the 500m, 1000m, 1500m, and 3000m relay events and trained with the US permanent winter sports Olympic team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the 2005–2006 season, she was ranked third overall in world rankings. In 2010 she won a bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Baver was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on August 11, 1980. At 11, Baver competed in the National Roller Skating Championships Philadelphia, PA, and at Wilson High School, she was a soccer player and cheerleader. Wang Meng (; born April 10, 1985 in Qitaihe, Heilongjiang) is a Chinese short track speed skater. She is a four-time Olympic Champion and 2008 and 2009 Overall World Champion. She is the most decorated Chinese Winter Olympic athlete ever with four Olympic gold medals, a silver and a bronze. Wang won gold in the 500 m event, silver in the 1000 m and bronze in the 1500 m event at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
