The Mixed 50 metre rifle three positions event was a shooting sports event held as part of the Shooting at the 1976 Summer Olympics programme. It was the seventh appearance of the event. The competition was held on 21 July 1976 at the shooting ranges in Montreal. 57 shooters from 34 nations competed. Lanny Bassham and Margaret Murdock Margaret Thompson Murdock (born August 25, 1942) is a nurse and former United States Army officer most widely known for her success in international shooting competitions, including a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Barry Edward Dagger (born 19 May 1937) is a British former sport shooter. Dagger competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics and in the 1984 Summer Olympics. He represented England in the 50 metres rifle prone, at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
