Shooting At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's Trap
The Women's trap event at the 2012 Olympic Games took place on 4 August 2012 at the Royal Artillery Barracks. The event consisted of two rounds: a qualifier and a final. In the qualifier, each shooter fired 3 sets of 25 targets in trap shooting Trap shooting, or trapshooting in North America, is one of the three major disciplines of competitive clay pigeon shooting, which is shooting shotguns at clay targets. Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich, is a barracks of the British Army which forms part of Woolwich Garrison. is a Japanese trap shooter, who competed at three Olympic games and won the silver medal at the 2013 ISSF World Championships. Nihan Kantarcı (; born July 9, 1982, in Eskişehir, Turkey) is a Turkish sport shooter who competes in the trap and double trap events. The tall athlete at is right handed. She began with shooting sport in 1996 at the Eskişehir Hunting and Shooting Sports Club. She is coached by Diego Gasperini in Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor. She serves as a teacher of physical education in a primary school at Gemlik, Bursa Province following her graduation from the Anadolu University. She obtained in the women's junior category a bronze medal in the trap, and a gold medal in the double trap event at the 1999 European Shooting Championships held in Poussan, France. Corey Cogdell (born September 2, 1986 in Palmer, Alaska) is an American trapshooter. She is a two-time Olympic bronze medal winner in the Women's Trap; at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Summer Olympics. She has won eight ISSF World Cup medals and a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games. Cogdell also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Lin Yi-chun (; born July 5, 1981, in Taoyuan (now Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City)) is a Taiwanese sport shooter. She won two medals, gold and silver, in the women's double trap, at the 2001 and 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Cairo, Egypt and Lahti, Finland, respectively. She also captured a bronze medal in the women's trap at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, accumulating a score of 80 clay pigeons and a bonus of 1 target from a shoot-off. A California native, she is a six-time Olympic medal winner, including three gold medals, and six-time national champion in double trap.
